Taking neither sides of the war..

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 8:33 am

This like so many other threads is about the civil war in Skyrim. To make it a little different this is to talk about why you don't like either side. Now I used to be an imperial supporter but over time I turned into a more neutral person. The empire is rather a bit corrupt unfortunetly but I feel that Ulfric merely has a lust for power. Now if the game let me I would of form my own faction and fight both the stormcloaks and the empire, and become high king myself. Now if you are neutral then why are you? And if you disagree with me then why?

I haven't tried the main quest or the civil war quest yet. But on my Assassin I don't want to participate in the civil war. I wish I could fight both as well and become the high king hehe.

I find too many faults with both sides so I choose neither.

That's exactly what I think.

My character, Figgin, hates Imperials for the brutal murder and [censored] of his mother and execution of his father. So I was, at first in favor of the Stormcloaks until I made my way to Windhelm and saw the treatment of my fellow dunmer in the grey quarter. At this point, I hate both and side with none. HAIL SITHIS!!!

I tried both sides but i never liked the whole quest line. Its boring and repetive. The only thing thats fun about the Civil War,are fortress quests...especially if you can call Odaviing to aid and burn the whole place.
Now i stay neutral in all my playtroughs, also i like Whiterun to be nice and undamaged.Whiterun my favourite city next to Markarth

As a pro-stormcloak, I'd choose the empire over choosing neither side any day.

Neither side ends in thalmor victory.

Most of my characters have been outsiders, and so felt it was not their fight one way or the other. Primrose had strong Stormcloak sympathies however, and always freed any Stormcloak prisoners she found in Imperial clutches. She could remember all too well how it felt when she was the one in binds, being led up to the Imperial headsman's axe. My current character Hrafngoelir is a Nord from Dawnstar, and is definitely a Stormcloak supporter. But she has been searching for her mother (who disappeared) before joining the war effort. She has been growing discouraged in her search however, so it is only a matter of time before she enlists.

Cloaks are what I side with, because the Empire has no right to rule Nord land. That said, I do not like how many of the cloaks are asses to any person who isn't a Nord, though I understand why

I took no side in the war for a long time because I came from another far province and was only looking in to cash in on the chaos of war like the Khajiit caravans.

Eventually though I sided with the Stormcloaks so I could watch the dying Empire fall even farther from its imaginary perch.

Hail Sithis indeed! For it was the IS NOT that comprehended itself and begot IS, and as the contrasts between Nothing and Something defined themselves, they shaped our ancestors the et'Ada. And it is because everything belongs to nothing that we can bear hope for our promised future of sleep in quiet, peaceful, and everlasting darkness...

EDIT: Also - come on now, the forum censored the word "r a p e" in SOS's post? I think that's just a bit ridiculous.

The Empire should return to it's stability like it had before the Oblivion crisis , with such power it could destroy the rebellion and the Thalmor at once in my opinion.

As people have said, I find faults, especially with the Imperial side I think. Something about a certain someone following me around for the rest of my life . I also don't do it sometimes because Whiterun gets partly destroyed... Might sound kinda sad

Lot's of people in the game seem to feel Ulfric lusts for power but if you listen to all of his conversations they tell a different story. He's old school Nord and he wants his people free to do as they please. He holds the Nord belief that the High King should be the strongest and must earn the position, not just have it handed to him because of blood lines. He killed the High King as a show of the kings lack of power which, strangely enough, is very much like the way the Orcs decide who leads. His ultimate goal is to free the Nord people's from the rule of the Thalmor and since the Empire has made pacts with the Thalmor then the Empire are also viewed as the enemy and must therefore be removed from Skyrim.

My mage sided with the Stormcloaks, My thief/assassin could care less, and I have yet to decide on my warrior. Even though I understand Ulfric's position, I'm not sure it's really the best way to go. I do feel the Thalmor need to be removed and I wish there was an option to somehow unite the Empire and the Nords against the Thalmor and push them out. That would be my goal nearly every time if it was in the game. I really can't stand the Thalmor. My Thief/assassin probably still wouldn't care unless the Thalmor somehow cut into his profits.
