Got the quest to get the three flawless amethysts for Talen-Jei in Riften. Collected the amethysts but when I went to see him I don't get a talk option to finish the quest?
I shook him down fore the thieves guild after starting the amethyst quest - has this broken the quest?

He probably doesn't want anything to do with you now.

Its likely a bug.
There seem to be a number of bugs where dialogue options do not appear.

I did the same in the TG quest and I could give them to him.

Maybe I have to go beat my payment out of him

Yeah I expected him to be angry but he was overjoyed with me. I laughed when I had completed the quest he got really angry at me again.
he was like "I cannot thank you enough, oh joy etc"
then
"Now get out of my sight, I cannot stand to see you"

I very nearly gave him a belt for his cheek lol

Yes but its adding to my already clutterred miscellaneous uncompleted quests. I have a problem saying no.
