Talsgar the Psycopath

I had a very weird experience on the road to Windhelm last night. I had bought a horse in Riften and was approaching Kynesgrove when I passed Talsgar the Wanderer. To my surprise, he became hostile, saying that I had made a big mistake coming here. Amazed, I watched as he came up and attacked me. Granted, he long ago had nothing more to teach me, and I'd already taken his advice to visit the Bard's College in Solitude, where I became a bard. Perhaps it was seeing wealthy me ride by on a new horse and not paying his 25 septim fee for a recital. Whatever the reason, he was bonkers.

Staying mounted, I kited him to Kynesgrove, where the guard started firing arrows at Talsgar. Soon they were wailing on each other. Talsgar is not a man of honor. Often he'd say he yielded, only to attack immediately. The contest went back and forth for a bit, but as soon as Talsgar took a knee, the guard would return to his beat. Eventually, I got Talsgar's attention, and kited him to Windhelm Stables. All the way he was taunting me, "Call yourself a true Nord? Nords never run away! Victory or Sovngarde!" and so on.

Well, it was late and the stables were closed, but Talsgar got the attention of the guards. The fight ranged from the stables to the main gate of Windhelm, and back again. I dismounted and went into town. Warming herself at the fire outside the inn was Silda the Unseen, who said, "Somebody please help." A guard drew his bow and cautiously approached the gate. Rolff Stone-fist said somebody should do something. Coward. The guard went outside, and I followed to see how things were going. There were as many as six guards on Talsgar's case, which meant he'd go down fairly quickly, then they'd get out their torches and resume their patrols. But then he'd come roaring back. My horse had stationed itself near the stables, and Talsgar may have attacked it. All I know is that in addition to the half-dozen guards, there were now three horses in the fray as well! Even Alfarinn came outside to see what was happening.

What happened next is unclear to me. Talsgar may have taken a critical hit. I think he's below the bridge abutment, across from the stables. I'll have to look when daylight is available. All I know is that the guards returned to their duty, the horses went back to the stables, and Alfarinn went back to bed. That last was a good thing, as I had to break into his strongbox at the behest of Vex. :ermm:

Wish I could have that much entertainment happen to me again... Haven't had something like that happen in a while... Maybe I should start a character who walks everywhere next... The most entertainment I've gotten recently is one shotting Ancient Dragons and watching them go into hardcoe denial about being dead (they actually fly off, nose dive into the ground, pop up out of the ground and then make a massive crater in the ground as they slide along it when they realize "crap I really am dead")...

Very amusing. I think I enjoy hearing peoples experiences, and watching crazy videos on them more then playing the actual game.

I forgot to mention something else that may have been just a big coincidence. After returning to Riften, both Vex and Delvin sent me to Solitude, and one mission involved a member of the Bard's College.
