Taming Animals

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 10:19 am

I recently saw this thread http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1371293-a-sabre-cat-for-friend/ and i thought
why can't i tame a animal to be my companion, i know that you can buy a dog, but what if i want a wolf or bear to be
with me on my journey across skyrim, this addition should be thought about for the future DawnGuard DLC

You can summon a familiar or use a shout that calls wild beasts to aid you :)

If you have the PC version you can trick the game into letting you have any creature follow you.

I agree with you. I was just thinking about a big white wolf (a bear is too large to pass the doors). A white wolf would be great. Wolves do not bark as usually they attack silently. White because you can see it easily in darkness and cannot get confused during an attack of a pack of wolves and also bigger to be more stronger than the common wild wolf. Would be great... No?

Meh, it wouldn't be realistic. Wild animals are wild animals, and not all animals can easily be made into pets irl either. For a lot of wild animals, it's completely impossible because they're solitary in social behaviour, and you can't change a solitary animal into a group animal. Well, that's the ethological side to it, of course. It still would be fun to tame an animal in the game.

I understand your point of view but it would not be to have a pet but a wild solitary animal as companion. A Dovakhiin should have the opportunity at a certain high level, after a specific quest, to gain, as reward, control of a white big wolf. This wolf would follow him during his quests and always remain outside towns (like horses).

No doubt there'll be a Game of Thrones Dire Wolf mod, if there isnt one already.

It would be cool to throw down a piece of meat in front of an approaching sabre cat or snow wolf and have them follow you like a hungry puppy or kitten. And kill to protect you, of course.
