Im a self taught pianist...
firstly you want to learn the basic major and minor chords, that is A B C D E F and G, and Am, Bm, Cm, Dm, Em, Fm, Gm.
Learn them before anything, then move onto the sevens A7, B7 and so on.
When you're farmiliar with the chords, a great training aid is to stick your ipod on shuffle and stand at your keyboard jamming along to whatever comes on. If you have trouble working out the chords of songs, a simple google search will give you the chords of any song you can think of. Though make sure to search for guitar chords, cause searching keyboard notation will bring up sheet music which takes training to be able to read.
