I'll say what I said on GameFAQs, which is what I posted in my profile:
"What part of Team Death Match do you not understand?
Face it, this is not a game about teamwork, it's a game about forced objectives, and the REAL problem is people don't think Team Deathmatch fits that criteria, even though wiping out an opposing team is just as much an objective as escorting a dumb**** robot, or blowing up a wall with an HE charge or hacking a terminal."
Seriously, there's still teamwork involved in Team Deathmatch. It's up to you and the other members of your team to destroy the other team. That's still teamwork, sir.
There's also a difference between Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch. Regular Deathmatch is the one that doesn't fit this game's point. That's the one where people would be mindlessly killing everyone else without working as a team or achieving an objective. Team Deathmatch not only has the objective of killing everyone else on the opposing team, but you also have to work with your other team mates to get that done. So what's the problem with TDM being in Brink?
I think another issue with people not wanting Team Deathmatch is a Kill/Death ratio and people bragging about theirs being "better" than other people's. No problem there, just don't keep track of kills and deaths. Instead, just keep track of which side wins each match, Security or Resistance, and see which side has the highest match win count.
