Team Death Match

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 9:12 am

There are several things missing in this game, don't get me wrong, it is an awesome game. I would like to view match statistics, Lag needs to be fixed, and Most of all i would really like to see a Team Death Match mode with maybe more exp distributed for kills in that mode. Please Please Please add a TDM. I have heard alot of players online say they would like to see TDM and somehow a fix in the lag problem. Thank you and please consider

Something to fix/sustain gamers until the issue can be fixed has been released already..

And Personally, I feel that the game would be pointless with a TDM. The maps are WAAAAAAAY too big. yea, they could cut sections off the map, but then it'd ruin EVERYTHING about the game. It's not designed around TDM. If they do make it TDM or even consider it, they may as well just get rid of classes.

A TDM would be good, but first they would have to cut the lag so that they sould populate the maps fully with about 12 - 14 players online to make it worthwhile sort of like MAG or big team battle on halo but i think it would be awesome addition to a good game but which some more to do

Brink does not need TDM, the game was not built for TDM, we do need more modes but not TDM.
Brink is a game that anyone can play online without having to worry about k/d and this i feel is very important.
It enables players that are maybe new to online, to compete on level terms with the more experianced players, and they could still finish top of the leaderboard.
Brink enables players that maybe are not so good at fps, to be able to play online and to contribute something to there team!!!!!
i applaud splash damage for this.
Online play can be daunting at times for a novice, especially when the stats are made known at the end of the game, what do you get oh you svck etc etc etc, and then all the arguments and name calling begin.
The only stats you get in Brink is the xp earned and that is fine with me.
This games does have it's flaws and problems, but i am sure that Splash Damage, will address these issue's and learn from there mistakes, this game is good but with some tweaks here and there it could be great
But leave the TDM for cod/battlefield

I'll say what I said on GameFAQs, which is what I posted in my profile:

"What part of Team Death Match do you not understand?

Face it, this is not a game about teamwork, it's a game about forced objectives, and the REAL problem is people don't think Team Deathmatch fits that criteria, even though wiping out an opposing team is just as much an objective as escorting a dumb**** robot, or blowing up a wall with an HE charge or hacking a terminal."

Seriously, there's still teamwork involved in Team Deathmatch. It's up to you and the other members of your team to destroy the other team. That's still teamwork, sir.

There's also a difference between Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch. Regular Deathmatch is the one that doesn't fit this game's point. That's the one where people would be mindlessly killing everyone else without working as a team or achieving an objective. Team Deathmatch not only has the objective of killing everyone else on the opposing team, but you also have to work with your other team mates to get that done. So what's the problem with TDM being in Brink?

I think another issue with people not wanting Team Deathmatch is a Kill/Death ratio and people bragging about theirs being "better" than other people's. No problem there, just don't keep track of kills and deaths. Instead, just keep track of which side wins each match, Security or Resistance, and see which side has the highest match win count.

SD never intended Brink to have TDM. SD did what they could to take out annoying things like campers, and other crud. Why else would you barely get any XP for kills, not kill based objectives, and no visible K/D? This game revolves around teamwork, not killing.

I don't think the teamwork would suffer if they added Team Deathmatch. The reason is because as long as they make it so that u get a lot of exp for buffering others. I think that the game is great, probably one of the best games I've ever played, but still, playing against other players in a deathmatch is something that would make the game the best game I've ever played, I think it's the same for a lot of other players too. And by not putting in K/D ratio like in CoD, it would still be a lot of teamwork because no one would care about how good they perform because K/D is not there.

Why does this keep coming up? Do you complain about the lack of weapon costumization in Madden? Are you upset that there isn't a single decent fatality animation in Farmville? If so, you are playing the wrong game! This game is not about deathmatch. Deathmatch is what you put in a game when you are lazy, or your boss tells you that studies have shown that the kids like this whole multiplayer thing and you should include that. Deathmatch is the past for shooters. You might as well be complaining to SD that they need to include a mode where you run around collecting dots.

I don't know what Madden or Farmville got to do with Brink, but what I'm trying to say is that people will get bored of Brink pretty fast without Team Deathmatches. Doing the same mission over and over again will get boring very fast.

I don't understand why you can't have both. It's pretty clear people want both. While it seems it wasn't designed for this, measures could be taken to make it work. Sometimes you have to give people what they want even if it's not your "ideal" way of playing the game. People/companies have bills to pay & the more people you make happy the more money you will probably make. A successful first game may lead to a higher quality sequel. And who doesn't want that?

SA is right and the human-factor must be considered. TDM in Brink would quickly become a twitch/glitch/exploit-fest, of the type many of us invested in Brink to avoid. I say yes to CTF and Take'n'Hold, but a firm 'No' to TDM.

If they even did consider TDM, why exactly would you need 12-14 players? 8v8 isn't enough? Hell, gears of war runs 4v4/5v5 on their matches, I'd say it would work best with 5v5. Though, Brink definitely does not need a TDM gametype. Maybe something like CTF, or a Domination style gametype. TDM would just be too generic. If you want to play deathmatch, go play CoD. They said the games were going to be objective based, so you knew what you were getting into.

To be honest all I really wanna see in this game is some cap the flag, king of the hill, and like a keep away game TDM in this game wouldn't do to well in this IMO.

Well, it doesn't necessarily have to be TDM, what I want is some more game modes where u play against other players. And about that TDM will get boring: True, TDM will get boring after a while, but just watch for example CoD, the majority of players play Team Deathmatch. U even see the highest prestige players play TDM. I don't believe anyone would play TDM is they were bored of it.

I don't think it needs TDM, but I wish the XP Score Leaderboard showed a few more statistics Kills/Deaths/Captures in addition to your total score.
