Team Distinction

Is anybody else worried that it will be difficult to tell teammates apart from enemies? From what I've seen, there are no specific colors for each team because you can customize everything, and other than a slightly cleaner look to the security, they seem to look pretty similar.

There are markers above a teammates head, such as their name, class, health, ammo, etc. You can even see these markers through walls so if you shoot at your teammates coming around the corner, you need glasses or something. So in short, I don't see it being much of a problem for the game.

It should be easy enough. The colors distinguishing the Resistance and Security are far from alike. Security will don clean-looking clothing with mostly greens and blues, while the resistance will look rag-tag and will sport multiple colors, like red, yellow, black, orange, etc. If you ironsight on someone for a tiny bit of time, you'll actually shot 'Enemy spotted!' into your comms radio that everyone on your team can hear. That should be enough.

If you also listen close enough, the weapons from the Security will sound clean when fired, and the Resistance weapons will sound clanky and unkempt.

BC2 had markers, too, but there were situations where it was hard to tell. Mostly close-range, and in the presence of lots of dust, which Brink won't have. I'm not worried, though.

SD has actually considered this already. The clothing styles and pallettes are designed to make telling friend from foe at a glance easy, without relying on HUD indicators.

Similar to TF2, if you've seen the developer commentaries, you'd know that they designed each class to have a different body type and shape, so it's easy to see who is who.

Yeah but if you look at the many Get Smart videos, the markers aren't hard to see, I mean they're white, big, floating right above your teammates head, visible though walls, and from what I've seen, are always visible even at far range

I went with too soon to tell. Seeing as i havent actually played the game yet theres no way of knowing. Ive seen lots of videos but never really been focusing on spotting whos on what team. However I am in the same boat as you and I do worry about this because I get sick in games where the teams are too similar looking. Im pretty sure theyre wont be a problem in Brink though...at least Im hoping there wont :)

Not going to be a problem. If you can't tell who to shoot, go be a medic.

It's funny because they actually did. I think it was on the Well map.
