Team Switching Woes

Post » Tue Jun 14, 2011 8:06 am

While I have already made a thread about my issues with the the lack of auto-team balance but I have noticed a growing trend the I've found to be quite annoying. People switching sides to the winning team near the end of the match to pad their XP/Stats. I see it and call people out on it. That [censored] weak.

They should make it so switching team is impossible when close to completing the final objective, for example.

I will admit I switched team today, but it was 6v2, where my team mate was idle. I dont switch at the end of the game though, I prefer to just exact revenge if they're about to win.

While it doesn't quite rank as my number one gripe with multiplayer it is annoying. Honestly, I would prefer seeing people rage quit mid-game than switch teams to get the win.

This is a great idea. Call me old school but I don't get the hoopla over being on the winning team. Win or lose just play the game the best you can. Padding your e-peen win/loss ratio is just as weak as campers padding K/D ratios.

I have played 1v7 games and stuck it out despite losing but put up a good fight. I do think that SD/Beth should implement an auto-kick for AFK players though.

I find it annoying that it takes so long to switch at the beginning and it's so easy to do it once you know the game is going poorly for the team. I try to switch to the out numbered team at the start of a round and then can't actually help them on the first objective because it takes 20 seconds to switch and then another 10 to respawn.

Kaptain Kandy, great job for mentioning the 'auto-kick for idle players' issue. SD MUST implement this! I'm so sick of being 'a man down' for no reason when his place could be taken by someone who will actually contribute.

Man, what I encountered yesterday just shocked me. I didn't know people would stoop that low. Anyway, I joined a match at the Security Tower but it was odd numbers so it was me and this other dude vs another guy. We managed to plant the charge on the door but the only human enemy player managed to pepper us to death with ye 'ol trusty SMG and he diffused the charge. It was then I noticed the guy on my team swapped to Security! He must've thought I was crap for going down as well (I was reloading). That made me even more determined to win. Me and the bots managed to hold off them off and hacked the safe successfully. By this time, new players were joining on both sides. And guess what our weaselly little friend did! Yep, back on my team when I checked the scoreboards. My team won eventually because we wound up with more players but omg, it takes a really weak individual to switch to the winning team no matter what and have no shred of dignity or fighting spirit. I guess there are plenty of lame people who actually take pride in winning hollow victories.

On a side note, has anyone noticed whether the bots scale up in skill when there's only 1 human player on the team? I've noticed they're a bit more difficult to fight, but maybe that's just me...

I was on CCity defense. Some minutes in, the game freezes the textures gone away and all players were on one team... except me :(
So it suddenly was me vs 6. Of corse I could have changed to the winning te4am but I didn′t and had a very funny fight.
Of course I lost :brokencomputer:
