Tempermental dialogue menus, fixes?

Post » Tue May 29, 2012 8:50 pm

Been playing Skyrim for a bit of time, and I've noticed that the dialogue menus are... tempermental at times. For instance, I'll clearly have clicked (and highlighted) a dialogue option, but the game seems to think i've chosen a different one, or when I try to buy something under a certain codifier (like Misc.) the game exits the buy/sell menu and boots me back to the dialogue.

It usually takes me 2-3 times before the game realizes what I was trying to do and performs the action I want. Is there any fixes for this, either by mods or patches?

No fixes yet. That's been a problem with Skyrim since release. I just figured it's because they want you to play with an xbox controller instead of a keyboard. SkyUI fixes the problems with item menus for the most part, but not the dialogue menus. The arrow keys are a good substitute for the cursor selection, though.

Indeed. Arrow keys are a good fix for when the menu just decides to get ornery. Although I had one instance in which even the arrow keys wouldn't work. Apparently my game decided I was going to ask Delphine about being the Dragonborn over...and over...and over...and over.

This is one I really wish Bethesda would fix. It's forced me to quit/reload a few times, such as when my game apparently decided I was going to marry Sorex Vinius, whether I wanted to or not. :P
