TES should be made for PC

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 11:27 pm

Make action games, racing games, repetitive games for console. TES was built and meant for PC. I would love to have a seperate group in this whole mix make a TES game strictly for PC. I don't see why. PC's are good if not better than consoles.

In one word 'Money'.

PC gaming is a very small piece of the Videogames Pie, these days. If you want to make money you make it for consoles.

I agree the game should be made for PC. The game would look better, probably have less glitches, and would have more depth. Consoles should get a port.

Would be a good start if the PC version was made with the PC in mind in the first place.

I would certainly like it, producers making strictly for PC can acheive incredible things, like CDProjektRED with the Witcher games.
But no. The most of the money comes from the consolers, and as Bethesda said themselves, the XBOX 360 is the easiest platform to program a game on.

But we're the ones taking the toll, same with PS3 owners.

Agreed. Coming from a console player.

Sorry but we still didnt know how much they earned from Digital copies... only very small amount of PC players bought Skyrim DVDs... majority bought it from STEAM.. its prerequisite to be on STEAM,then why not buying it there directly?

I mean im poor but I still manage to have a computer and I think more people have computers these days. Soon the technology would be less expensive to achieve skyrim type quality. I'm on a 4 year old gaming laptop and I can run skyrim on low graphics. Thats the real hurdle is make a game that people can run. Hopefully soon Pc's won't be as expensive and consoles will be obsolete.

They should at least make the user interaction part of the game (UI and user input) PC specific for the PC version. That itself would make a good difference.

LOL, yeah, and Sony Records should go back to making cassettes, vinyl and 8 tracks only. As already stated, the PC platform is a very small slice of the total gaming market. The consoles now (Xbox and PS3, forget about Wii) are a little long in the tooth, I agree. Personally, I think if the next gen of consoles includes swappable video (upgradable, system standard) cards and 3D glasses/support, they might actually kill PC gaming almost completely. When you think about the length of time these two boxes have been top of the heap, it really makes sense to issue a video hardware upgrade once every year, year and a half. That and possibly better wifi.

I say that also as a fellow console player. The order of development should be 1. PC 2.PS3 3.360. Games developed on PC or PS3 first tend to end up looking better than games developed on 360 first. Though I doubt Bethesda would be able to correctly make a PS3 game even if they did make it on PC first. Imagine if they made it PC/PS3 exclusive, I bet they could have had every province in the game.

..Oh dear god. *facepalm*

1. PC gaming is RISING. So many, many, many people bought it from STEAM, that didn't release the records.

2. 3D glasses? Seriously? You just killed your entire argument.

why is it then that morrwind had such a difficult time with xbox. I mean every thing you do you get a 2 min loading time. So how does a game such as skyrim run on a console, even a next generation one, and still have enough depth to keep things still in TES. I have a feeling that they had to slim it down and almost make skyrim the way it is because its the best that consoles are able to do and still have no loading times. Think about it. It pushed platforms really to the limits.

Well, I don't know how they're gonna see the value in developing a TES game for every console + PC. I would prefer if they made it for PC, then for PS3 and ported to XBOX. Doubt it will happen though. They make more money with the porting strategy as it is now.

Even though im a PC player, considering we have mods to add stuff (graphics) and console commands to alleviate some quest problems (which xbox/ps3 doesnt have), im pretty fine with the way it is; no need to make the console players' life more difficult eh :)

People only like consoles better because of price and controllers. I like consoles for exclusive games and for the ability to play games my PC cannot run. I prefer Oblivion, Skyrim, and Morrowind on PC but during the respective releases for the games my PC was incapable of running it and with Skyrim I wasn't going to take that chance. However my cousin has a computer with the same specs as mine and it ran perfectly on that so I ended up buying Skyrim on PC a month after I got the PS3 version.

Being an XBox player myself, not by choice, I would much rather the game be DESIGNED for the PC and then ported to the Console. That is the way it was done in Morrowind and the way it should be done every time.

yes but pc use xbox controllers with the power of USB. I just think that for the console to compete they would basically have to make them almost if not more than what a PC costs.

Yeah, a straight-up platform bashing thread - when our rules specifically say not to do that - is not gonna fly.
