I just found this at the crashed vertibird does anyone have any info on it and where is the ammo?

the gun is nice and it shoots really straight, you can almost snipe with it, only problem is the ammo usage is [censored], it uses 45 per shot, i was out of ammo after 4 shots, so its pretty useless in that regard, since it uses energy ammo which is the heaviest if you don't count missiles and grenades, so even if you were carrying your full weight capacity of ammo you would be completely out after a fight with 4-5 decently strong enemies.

I noticed that it wasn't really effective against deathclaws... My strength is 8 gun skill 75 and I still had to shoot a deathclaw a couple times with the tesla to kill it?

Ahhh that's it...I haven't messed with energy weapons yet but when I saw the tesla I had to pick it up. I haven't really put anything into energy its at 17 I think...what's the best gun to tackle a deathclaw with. I want to get the anti material rifle but I don't want to drop the 8000 caps on it just yet. I'm assuming with a 75 gun skill and that anti material rifle I can really do some damage. Maybe even one shot kill a deathclaw?

Anti material rifle needs 8 strength and 100 guns skill to use effectively. Don't know about one shotting a deathclaw though.

I was able to one-shot several deathclaws with my sniper build. Get the better criticals perk, stay hidden, make use of Boone and ED-E, and it's fairly easy to critical hit them to death with one shot from a well-repaired, 100 guns skill, armor piercing 50mg round. The Alpha and Mother Deathclaws though? Not so much...
