Thalmor at my home's doorstep?

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 3:57 am

My character just made it to the 'Elder Knowledge' part of the MQ, and have often antagonized the Thalmor all through my adventure...now all of a sudden, there's an armored Thalmor soldier just standing at the doorstep of my Breezehome in Whiterun. He doesn't attack me (even when I enter & exit the house), and the only dialogue he's got is the greeting dialogue ("yes?" "need something?" etc.)

Wonder what's up with that? I'd expect a Thalmor soldier to attack me (especially after
Spoiler
the havoc that I caused at the Thalmor embassy as part of the MQ
), but just to loiter around at the doorstep of my house?

Decorate your nice Whiterun home with some of that "pure", sweet Almter blood.

He wouldn't get a chance to say anything if he was near my house. I'd kill him, resurrect him and make him kill his brother.

I have the same thing, but with the Alik'r.

Spoiler
Strange, because I thought I murdered them all during "In My Time Of Need". Even if there were more Alik'r, I was surprised that they didn't attack me on sight for killing Kematu and a whole bunch of the Alik'r. They just go "Yes? Need something?"...

Step 1: SAVE

Shout at him.... hint... use mark of death

The guard will rush at you, and arrest you. Invoke your Thane status. Kill the Thalmor. Pay your 40 gold fine.

This happening you have in Whiterun sounds really odd. Only weird Thalmor Justiciar I have seen came to watch how I killed a dragon on a road near solitude. When I absorbed its soul he shouted "DRAGONBORN!" and ran away.

I wonder if it's a texture glitch. I would kill him as a Werewolf or kill him outright and invoke my Thane status. :P

You should "Remove" him, if he's getting too annoying :P

Oooo, if so, just wait until he's talking to you and enter your house then he'll be in there when you finish zoning.

I think you mean Alikri warriors, they say yes and need something? And are also infront of my house.

I've seen imperials do this too. And I think it's random patrol that stop over hold capitals now and then during their patrol run.

Try greeting him with your Blades armor on. I've heard that it can cause Thalmor to attack, but I have not been able to trigger this as non-hostile (meaning non-Justicar) Thalmor have disappeared from my game.

Just for fun I did an 'Ice Form' shout at him and froze him in ice for a moment. That turned him hostile so I could kill him, but the game never put a bounty on me for it...

Why not question him/her over the ban of the Worship of Talos? That will urge the Thalmor to attack you, and as you are Thane, it will be an interesting fight for this Thalmor Justicar. I do this now out in the wilds, just to get the Thalmor numbers a bit thinner on the ground. Fun to be had.

Just cut him down where he stands and pay the 40 drake bounty for your "assault".

I heard that if you're in Stormcloak-controlled territory, the guards and citizenry don't even do that, they just go "Niiiiice"
