thalmor's view towards other mer?

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 7:21 am

hi guys

my current char is an altmer and i want to RP as a thalmor. therefore, i want my char to behave like a thalmor would, act as a superior race and looking down at men.

at first i only want to befriend with other altmer but then i found out that there is no altmer available as a follower and the only available atlmer for marriage requires me to invest in her shop in order to marry her (i dont want to spend any perks on speech). i then question myself, how would a thalmor react to other mer (dunmer, bosmer)? im unfamiliar with the lore of TES and i tried to find the answer in the wiki but i cant find it. it would be great if you can give me any enlightenment.

if they view the other mer as a comrade (or at least they didnt really look down towards them), i will probably find myself another mer for my follower and spouse. if they view them as inferior race just like they see men, i wont marry with this char and i will treat my followers more like a slave than an actual comrade.

cheers

Bosmer and Dunmer are treated better than Men. But not by much.

Remember- Dunmer rejected Altmer/Chimer beleifs and left before they became Dunmer. And the Bosmer do not share beleifs with the Altmer, living in trees and effectively worshipping plants to the point where they're all meat-eaters.

Altmer prefer Bosmer and Dunmer to any race of man, but they're still an inferior breed. Slightly better viewpoint may be with any Altmer who does not share the Thalmor ideology as well, as in "Well, they're the same kind as I am, but..."

The thalmor hate the dunmer with a passion because of their insistence on worshipping daedra. I think they might actually prefer bretons to them. Some Bosmer do share thalmor beliefs(And by now are probably the majority of what's left in valenwood) and tend to be treated better(Though they're obviously inferior in thalmor eyes). The rest of the bosmer in valenwood either fled or were killed in purges. The thalmor also despise the Orsimer due to the daedra worship too.

The thalmor despise other altmer too.(They killed a bunch of their own kind when they took power because they were not "Of the blood of the aldmer")

They're just generally a rather unfriendly group if you aren't totally compliant or are a mannish race.

seems that thalmor is worse than i thought :stare:
so i guess its unlikely for a thalmor to marry a dunmer then. i probably gonna treat my dunmer follower more like a subordinate than an equal comrade.
thanks guys.

A through-and-through Thalmor wouldn't likely marry a Dunmer, or even have one follow them around (except for that Mara Priest guy- he's atoning and he's not worshipping Talos, so he may be OK.) However, one who is having cracks develop in their brainwashing/faith (why Talos shrines have power if Talos isn't a god, why they weren't saved from the Chopping block even though the commander of the Thalmor was RIGHT THERE, etc.) might break down to have a Dunmer follower/spouse.

The Thalmor hate even most of their own race, let alone other mer.

That's because Skyrim is a nord centric game. Have a look at save 1. It says prisoner race Nord.

You can marry Taarie without investing in her shop. You just need to do her quest by wearing some clothes. Good luck with that though. She's not someone I'd want around. :P

If you're playing a thalmor agent, you could always marry someone as a cover to your activities. My Thalmor character will marry the Nord Ysolda for example, to kinda explain to ulfric why an altmer like him would join the Stormcloaks.

the thalmors are no difference from the Nazis. If you can think like a NAZI, then you are on the right track of RPing a thalmor.
