Thane before the Civil War : V

If I'm Thane for a Hold, and then complete the Civil War, and a new Jarl is in place, will I have to redo quests to become Thane or will the new Jarl simply say "You're still Thane".

You have to become Thane again, but usually it's just a matter of going to the new Jarl, asking, "Is there anything else you need" and them telling you "you've helped my people, blah blah I name you Thane."

I'd best be Thane if I put your ass in power.
