Thank you bethesda for ruining my game

You know, OP...

Markarth is only one city in the Hold. Go to a different location in the Reach and search out a Guard. When you are away from Markarth, the glitch shouldn't take effect and the guards will arrest you as normal. Pay your bounty or serve your time and poof, you're a free man.

This solution didn't work for me , the guards are still dead , I'll try ressurecting them later.Yes I got p!ssed off and killed the ones inside the shrine and surrendered to the ones outside. =P

well i passed that point with no problems.
when at first the guards from the temple became hostile i've simply killed them.
seeing as the outside guards were also hostile i've complied, and thus continued the questline.
maybe if the inner guards are dead solved the potential issue

What this thread shows me is that many of the issues people blame Bethesda for and post negative comments with negative titles (like on this thread) are in fact user created issues....that actually have work-arounds (the game's that well made) if the player is patient and seeks advice. But no....players lose the head and get petulant and go on like spoilt brats on the forums. How on earth could Bethesda program-in safeguards for all the daft things players get up to in the game.

This.

Just be patient and think. Every problem has a solution.

I heard about this ahead of time and looked the quest up to avoid any bugs. It ruined a bit of the quest for me but saved me from some grief.

Attack the guards, then sheath you weapon, they should then haul you off to jail, worked for me

I had the same problem in whiterun, everybody in dragonsreach did attacked me for no reason, so i committed a small crime, paid the gold for it and got it solved

I did something similar when I didn't hold the shout down long enough on a certain part of the main quest and instantly assumed it was a glitch or a bug (or whatever they're called). I tried many different things and it didn't work.
Then posted an annoyed thread only to find it was something simple and not even a problem, I felt so bad afterwards.

i shouldnt have to troll forums and youtube for a resolution, i get the fact that i should be banned from the city , but dont make most of the quests like thieves guild happen in that city, i thought this radiant storyline was supposed to solve it. Yeah it has work arounds, work arounds from a obvious glitch, that im sure in time bethesda will take care of, but im not going to be a "spoiled brat" because im pissed i got entangled in a glitch and i want it resolved

So this is my first post, and i don't know if this has been resolved or there is a way to, but this markarth glitch has totally ruined the game for me. I don't want to start a new character at this point just yet, i still have alot to accomplish and i am close to restoring the thieves guild but i can't because i cant even step foot near markarth because i am alwalys wanted. I am a thane there and still can't get rid if this bounty. Bethesda pleeeeease fix this!!!

Are you sure it's a glitch? Just hide all your stolen stuff in a bin and go to jail? It's pretty simple.

Skyrim's Abomb, something that Beth needs to fix ASAP. Best case scenario is to load a save before you get too far in the quest, otherwise you'll have to kill all the guards, avoid Markarth, or start another file.

This and probably the best thing that you can do until Beth fixes it.
