hardcoe mode has definitely been an interesting change and personally I like it since it adds in an extra element of sophistication to the game making it more realistic. Some may find the Dehydration or Starvation thing a problem, but really I find it interesting and it just requires a bit of management. It maybe intended, but acquiring Starvation and Dehydration while sleeping seems a little extreme. However sometimes out in that harsh desert those travelers don't wake up from their night of sleep. Only thing I would change to make hardcoe mode even more hardcoe is limb damage inflicting Damage Over Time on the traveler depending upon the area until it is fixed.
Fallout New Vegas Pros:
- hardcoe mode makes the game just that much sweeter for those looking for the bit of extra challenge. I'm not 1 bit sorry I chose to do hardcoe mode in the beginning and has made the game more enjoyable.
- The Desert is really vast and the game doesn't feel like it should have been a FO3 expansion. My biggest worry was the game making me feel like it should have been a FO3 expansion, but it hasn't.
- Finally we packrats are vendicated with almost anything and everything being useful to some degree or another. Crafting my ammunition, and food ontop of items really makes me feel like I can spend 25 to 40 more hours playing this game.
- NPCs still have a bit of stiffness to them, but the voice acting is spot on. So far my favorite character is No-Bark with him talking about Chupacabra's with Automatic Weapons and Isaac for "Plowing" the Casino boss's daughter lol
- Yea for disposable skill books these things are great and I really love using them when I can to help myself out.
Fallout New Vegas Cons:
- Graphics are indeed the same as Fallout 3 with different textures, but hey why fix something that isn't broken.
- Not sure if it's a bug or intended, but I had a TON of recipes to choose from and i'm not complaining. However it may overwhelm people and it maybe good to add in a tab feature with an update.
- The Save bug is a bit of a problem and hopefully it gets fixed. Had two instances of this where quick saves were reverted, but I had a backup save.
- The armor Icon seems a bit weird to me and was hoping a sort of enclosed enemy health bar indicating *Ex (lllll) instead of just an enemy's health with a shield next to it*
However my complaints are minor and really i'm thoroughly enjoying this game. Can't wait to find out what happens with ED-E since I got him up and running with him being my personal pack mule. Also just gained Boone as my traveling companion which makes things even more fun. Thanks again for making the game/having it made devs FONV is definitely in my collection of fun games to play. Probably going to keep myself occupied with this and between this and SC2 i'll be set until HL2 Episode 3 comes out when hell freezes over.
