The Alchemy Laboratory Wizard - The end of all needs for you

Post » Mon May 28, 2012 3:55 am

Question though. When I ask for a restore health, it only gives me 2 ingrediants as possibilities... When I know in fact that there's more than one way to achieve this. Are you going to upgrade your page?

When you select "Restore Health" it gives you the first combination it finds. You will see that there are other ingredients in the select list, which are not greyed out. You can then select those and also see what combinations of "Restore Health" you get, like "Blue Dartwing" and "Butterfly Wing". The calculator does not list ALL combinations, but it will list ALL ingredients that have that effect and show you the first combination that is found immediately.

Ah. You know, I'd probably have figured that out if I was using my computer for it instead of my phone :P. Thanks for clearing that up, mate!

SLOW and FRENZY are still listed as positive effects, can you change that.

I noticed not all avaiable ingridients are shown when choosing the desired effect.

Like when I choosed: weeknes to poision, weakness to schock and ravage health nothing came up but it is possible to brew such a potion.

Void salt + Giant Lichen and Skever tail -> 97% weaknes to shock 30 sec, 67% or 65% weakness to poison 30 sec, 97 dmg )

I tested it in game after getting the right ingredienc effects from http://skyrim.melian.cc/?cmd=cmdSkyrimIngredientList

Can you please recheck?

From the ingredient list i have the following effects for the 3 ingredients you posted and check which effects they actually have in game?

Void Salts: Weakness to Shock, Resist Magic, Damage Health, Fortify Magicka
Giant Lichen: Ravage Health, Weakness to Shock, Weakness to Poison, Restore Magicka
Skeever Tail: Damage Stamina Regen, Ravage Health, Damage Health, Fortify Light Armor

With those ingredients you can get: Weakness to Shock, Ravage Health, Damage Health
but no Weakness to Poison.

So i guess either some of my ingredients have the wrong effect in my database and differ from actual in game values, or you have had too much Skooma mate! :toughninja:

Edit: You might mean these ingredients per chance? :hubbahubba:

Potion: Damage Health, Weakness to Poison, Weakness to Shock
Deathbell, Giant Lichen, Void Salts

I'm going to bump this. Everyone should know about this site.

How many potions does it take to get to 100 skill?

This is not something you can just calculate. Depending on your perks and the ingredients you choose and the amount of effects the ingredients grant, the rise towards your next point in Alchemy differs. Also there is a hidden factor, a multiplier stored with each ingredient, that will make potions with the same effects, but different ingredients, stronger depending on the multiplier. So the amount it takes to get to 100 is rather hard to determine.

Great tool, thanks for making it!

Regenerate Health/Magicka/Stamina only show up on the "Poison and Positive Effects" menu, not on "Positive Effects only". They should be on both, correct?

The http://skyrim.melian.cc/?cmd=cmdSkyrimAlchemyWizard is finished!

You can select multiple effects and see the ingredients that are needed for such a potion or posion. Additionally you can also simply select ingredients and see which ones match. Here also multiple selects are possible.
The http://skyrim.melian.cc/?cmd=cmdSkyrimAlchemyWizard really lets you delve into potion and poison creation, letting you create potions and poison easily with 3, maybe even 4 effects!

Go have a look. I already found some nifty poisons with 3 negative effects :D

Yummy :icecream: Thank you!

Glad you like it.

You guys should also have a look at the http://www.uesp.net site. I saw there that you can actually make a potion/poison with 5 effects. Though it's not too useful. The guys there have made a nice list of useful potions.

Great site there.. A few changes I'd love to see would include larger ingredient selection boxes (see more than 5 without scrolling). I would also like to have it set so that if I choose one ingredient, the second selection box would only contain the possible working options instead of just greying out the ones that won't work. Less scrolling would be better :D.

Amazing site in any case.

Hey man, very cool tool. Love the dynamic searching & displaying w/o page refreshes ^^

One suggestion I have is to display the approximate value of a potion, if possible - since the XP of an alchemy combine is based directly on the XP of the result, that's crucial information for levelers.

I've got a list of relative values on a spreadsheet I posted (researched it myself, posted the results in case anyone was interested... admittedly they weren't, but hopefully it's still of use to SOMEONE :) )

recipe value list. Attribute values are on Attribute sheet. :) https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aj_bdEnICFt8dE4xLUtraTJfcUxoeHFDTXlUeGNxMHc&hl=en_US#gid=1

Aside from ingredient affinities (e.g. Giant's Toe does a 6x on duration & value of the Fortify Health attribute - totally hidden value), this is pretty accurate. Values are purely additive, though since they're stored by the game as decimals, there's some fudge factor w/ internal rounding.

Those changes sound good. I will gather them into changes supplied by others and let them flow in. Thanks for your ideas!

I think as soon as the correct formula for values and xp gain are there i will integrate this in some way. In addition you would also need to take your alchemy skill level and perks into account to get an accurate amount. I will certainly have a look at your spreadsheet!
