The Art of Staves

Post » Fri Jul 06, 2012 9:27 am

Hello everyone, and this is my first post and here is a problem that I would like to address. Now I don't know if any others have this problem, but I feel that the combat of staves really need to change. For example, there need to be a whole new perk tree under the Mage nebula thing, including one handed and two handed staves. A cool idea is that doing a light attack will result in a light attack, while a power attack will use the enchantment. Crafting could also be an option, so crafting a staff would require two ingots of choice of firewood. Then, you can enchant it with staff specific enchantments, and the soul gem you use goes onto the staff. Also, if you use a black soul gem, it does extra damage to men, mer, beast-folk and dremora.
Thanks for reading, add comments and suggestions, thank you!

Some way to increase the usefulness of staves WOULD be useful. Maybe incorporated into the enchanting tree? Or given its own skill?

I like your idea. I would love to create my own staff. Because to be honest there's isn't a lot of variety when it comes to staffs. And the special staffs you get are kind of meh.

I would like this if there were just plain staves. Not just magical ones.

OOP: What the hell is a fishy stick? I've seen these things all over the forums. How did it get started? They weren't around, or atleast were not prominent, when I joined.

First off...I love the new avi.

Yes' it would be great to have some custom created staves and even have more unique ones. Right off hand I can only think of 5 unique staves and 3 different generic styles.

Keep adding ideas and supportive critisism, hopefully gamesas will add this in their next game or new DLC (it would probably be hard to add it in new DLC, so the next game is the best chance).

I wish we could use the staves as weaker type of two-handed melee weapon as well as a magical weapon. It would make mages a little more interesting than they currently are.

Oh! Yes, that would be a wondrous thing for sure. I can see my mage shooting fire until the enemy gets into melee range and the lashing out with the staff that has a blade in the butt end or from an axe blade from the business end.

Then spin it in his back, like in oblivion.
