The CK ate my Major Statics!

WOW. : (

Some how, about the time the beta was put out - actually a couple days later, I noted a very odd occurrance.

I have finished my exterior mod, which encompases several exterior cells. I went on to work on the first exterior - the manor house on my redoubt and was about 80% done with that, when I fired up a save, and it started on the view of one of my imperial tower exterior statics!! IN AN INTERIOR CELL for my Manor house.

I thought that was wierd so I backed the camera away and saw that most of my exterior statics from my exterior redoubt were somehow exported into my interior cell - the entire fort - everything but the walls. The manor house, the inn, the logistics building, and all of the tower pieces with interiors (imperial tower and tower door pieces.)

That freaked me out! And I immediately backed out without saving this file corruption.

When I opened up the save from the night before, the exterior pieces were not in the interior cell. I thought everything was OK.


That was two days ago (no I didn't check the Tamriel exterior cells - didn't think there would be a problem.

I open up the CK today and it downloads the new version. I start getting errors telling me I need to finalize Navmeshes in several cells I modded in the exterior Tamriel space. Weird, I thought - I had already finalized and tested these - so take a look.

Guess what. All those exterior pieces - Angeline's Aromatics, Styrr's house, Bard college towers, East Empire Bldg, and about 8 out of 10 tower pieces are all... gone.

They are not in the saves either.

:(


Not a killer because all the small pieces are still there. and my Interior cell seems OK; but wow!


Hope this doesn't happen to anyone else - and check your externals for large poly statics missing.

It looks like a majority of what is missing was items I had set to is Full LOD, and then back again after the patch seemed to have fixed that problem.

I lot of my linked patrol markers seem to be missing, too!. This is going to set me back at least a week. :(

Fortunately I have learned so much the first time, that it should only take me a fraction of the time to get it right the second time.


EDIT: Definitely the items that had been set to Is Full LOD, and then switched back after/ during the patch. Everyone who had set statics to Is Full LOD should check if they are still there now!

The Navmesh errors are probably because the statics that they rested on are gone.

Eww. Sorry you had to lose all that work. Also a little worrying that your back-ups didn't work either. I only started editing cells after 1.6 came out so hopefully I shouldn't have a problem.

I also noted than any actors that were linked to enable links, actors that were linked to patrol paths, an activator nordic pull chain, two levers linked to portculis, and two levers linked to retractable bridges are missing.

I located all the missing pieces. They ended up in Warehouse Traps!!! WTH.
I was able to pull them in, copy and paste them in one fell swoop - but the Mod is broken and breaks the game.

What a dirty edit, LOL.

How in the World did this happen?

At this point all I can say is that the CK somehow corrupted my Mod. I am hesitant to point to the 1.6 beta or upgrade, other than it happened about that time.
Probably just CK funkiness.

My Mod is broken and breaks Skyrim. Gah!

I'll try to troubleshoot this tomorrow and this weekend.

No - I have heard there are issues with TESV snip. I am just going vanilla tools - CK only.
I really at this point think the issue ocurred thriiugh some nexus of visiting the Warehouses, attempting to select copy and paste into my interior.
Why this grabbed so many of my exteriors that had been seet to LOD and all my activator and marker items is beyond me.

My mistake to think that when the exteriors were not showing up in my interior, that they were back where they belonged.
I had never selected them as a group ever - No idea why they were ported to different interiors.

A very similar thing happened to me once. Lots of strange objects I didn't even know I had modified showed up in several interior cells..
I had also copied things from one of the Warehouses..

I didn't. :P This, along with another issue,led to me putting the mod on hold. I will go back and try to solve it later, but not until I've finished the new mod I started!
So I cannot help you atm :/
