1 of the best Quests i've done so far

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 7:07 pm

See.. this is exactly why Bethesda are great at writing TES games. They make those quests that you THINK you're just doing some random miniscule task for someone.. and it turns into 1 crazy helluva an adventure!!!

Now, I've never done all the Daedric Quests yet.. hell I didn't even KNOW this was a Daedric Quest! Like I said I thought it was just some random quest in my eyes.

What quest you ask? A Night to Remember

Spoiler
Sanguine's Rose Quest

BRAVO! Yet another quest that I will forever remember with my experience in Skyrim. At 1st I literally thought I was just being led along by some random "Sam" guy and that it'd prolly bite me in the rear end. I was wrong.

This was quite possibly one of the funnest quests I've done so far, and the dialogue was perfect. Whomever plays Sam's voice good job you hit the drunk tone hehehe. Didn't have any bugs/glitches in the process and all in all it was quite a trip.

These are the quests that I ADORE. The ones that make you think you know what's going on.. then next second WAM! right in the face! Like.. wait wtf just happened? I thought I was just...

Like the Thieves Guild..

Spoiler
quite honestly my fav. so far. For the longest I was becoming COOL with Mercer and I was going along with the whole thing.. thought he was the good guy and he really wanted to bring the Guild back!

Boy was I wrong. Have any quests done this to you?

The guy who does Sam does most of the drunks, I think? But yeah, he shines in that one.

The end reminds me of Joss Whedon's take on demons.. like they're so laid back and casual in his shows. I heard it's inspired from the movie Hangover though.

it's amazing .... without knowing that they had been inspired by that film, when I woke up in the temple during the quest ... I thought to myself .... 'hey, this is Skyrim's "Hangover Moment!!"'

Yeah, it's a brilliant quest ... one of the best I've ever done in any game

Definitely a really fun quest. And it's good seeing that Sanquine isn't the typical "Lord over the weak mortals and crush them wahahahahahaha" Daedra.

The Daedric quests, all 15 of them, are the best set of quests I have played in any RPG (and any game, for that matter, off the top of my head)

As long as you don't use speech to skip the tasks given along the way the quest is great. Using speech just winds up making you miss everything interesting.

Yeah, that one had me LMAO as well. As was mentioned elsewhere, it feels something like "The Hangover", with the PC being forced to retrace his steps to figure out exactly what sort of trouble he got into. Sam's hard to find, though... those of you trying to get this quest, just keep looking, you'll run into him eventually!!

Yep, definitely a favorite quest. I really enjoyed that one. I got back that damn goat, too.

For me, he usually shows up in Whiterun. Last time I played though, he showed up in Ivarstead. Which is perfect, imo. Here you are trying to be the hero on the great pilgrimage to the Greybeards, and suddenly.... Sam shows up and derails you. And I'm sure, Markarth in general derails most people even further. It's like he's saying "Dragonborn, eh? Not just yet buddy!"

I certainly didn't expect such a well written side quest for a Bethesda game. Usually they are very straightforward kill-this-bring-that.

I completely agree with OP. This quest really caught me by surprise! The story, the dialogue, the scattered locatios.. And best yet, the reward is very nice! I use it quite often when my thief character is in a tight spot. :) Hopefully I'd come upon a quest like this again. :P

I really enjoyed that quest.
For once I didnt use speechcraft to get me out of things, as I wanted to see where it all led me.

It was twice as funny for my character, because I had asked Ysolda to marry me but not yet arranged the wedding.

One of the few quests with a bit of humor, I really liked that one.

Its more in the spirit of some of the quirckier quests from Morrowind and Oblivion's Shivering Isles.

Yeah taking advantage of the speech checks really turns it into an average quest that just requires some travel and a dungeon crawl. Kind of a bummer really

I intimidated my way through the quest with people, got my reward and moved on. Maybe down the line I'll do the quest again and see it all.

That's what I did... I thought it was so weird. I couldn't make sense of this whole quest and felt it to be rather stupid. Folks saying I did strange things out of the blue, and let me talk to progress. I didn't do anything in this quest apart from fast-travelling and picking answers. And I wasn't even aware there is a lot behind it! When I was done without any tasks or action, I checked online to find more info.

This could have been cool, if there had been no way to avoid the excitement. Next time I have to make sure I pick the good answers, but it killed the whole quest for me. As I didn't avoid any deliberately.

Yeah, somebody at Bethesda had way too much fun writing that one.

I particularly like Moira's speech when she's told the engagement is off.

Yeah its either the most interesting quest or the most dull quest depending on how you play it. Kind of svcks it works out that way.
