So back to the big, simplified question; is Skyrim a console port (made for console, ported to PC) or a PC port (made for PC and ported to console)?
I truly hope it is the latter, and if not I hope everyone can see why developing for the PC is better. I have nothing against consoles, hell I own all 3 current generation ones. (though I bought two of them a long while ago and 1 exclusively as a blue-ray player) But developing for them is counter intuitive. If you develop on a PC you can take advantage of the mouse pointer, the (near) limitless keys, the hardware (though you would also have to take into account the hardware of the current consoles) and most importantly the VERY critical fans. It is simple fact that PC fans are the biggest jerks about their games. We like our games to be the best they could be (and get loud and noisy if they aren't). If you develop to a standard that is extremely high, your game will inherently be better than otherwise. So again I ask, what was Skyrim made for? (and if for some reason this got you all up in arms at Bethesda if they "sold out" by developing for consoles - don't be. As I said, their receptiveness to the PC community has been very good, and they are doing so much exclusively for us.)
Like I say in all my threads, please no flame wars, no big arguments, no anger. I want to know what the answer is, and if Bethesda has said anything about it.
Thank you for your time in reading this thread, and have a happy holiday season!
