The climix between Courier and Ulysses

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 7:58 am

So after reading around the wiki, and reading all these hints, am I the only one REALLY eager to see how this all plays out? At first Ulysses looked like some dark anti-hero to me on the Collectors Edition card, but after reading some of these hints from Dead Money, he seems to be this sort of mystical hero. I wonder if this DLC might alter the Battle for Hoover Dam ending lets you travel on to go and encounter Ulysses, now THAT would be an amazing ending for the game. Am I alone in these sentiments?

If he's really important for the main story then yes, allowing us to continue after the final battle but being locked in a new area where it's still the point of no return.

Given the comments I've heard that the characters make at the end of Dead Money, it would seem likely that Obsidian has an impressive overarching story arc planned to link all the DLCs together. Very interesting.

I wouldn't have it after the battle for Hoover Dam I'd have the quest become available after you enter New Vegas.

Well I don't want it as a 'continue after the ending' DLC, I just think, in all honesty, the factions are nothing personal for The Courier, ending it on a deep and personal note. I mean, according to Nash, he says 'sounded like you two had a history'. Perhaps thats just my take though.

I want to know why Ulysses tells Nash to let courier six carry the package? Does he hate the courier or what? I think its going to be interesting.

That is interesting. Is it just me, or is that somewhat innovative for DLC in general?

I agree I would love to find out why he did that.

IMO that would make more sense than the ending that we have now. don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining that the game ends, it's just that even though you survive the final battle, then the game just ends. That's the part of it that doesn't quite seem right to me.

Im really interested to see how They make The Divide look. Which is where this giant climatic battle (Battle?) will take place if all the hints are correct.

Somethings up with the Canyon Wreckage I still think if anything starts between the Courier and Ulysses it will begin at that location.

I'm missing something here. Why are we so sure that Ulysses is the other Courier?

Ulysses is on a card in the Caravan Deck we got with the Collectors Edition of New Vegas.
On it is a man with a vest that has the old united states flag on it.

At Nash we get to hear that another courier was suppose to take the delivery of the platinum chip but changed his mind when he saw "The Courier's" name and asked if he was still alive to which Nash replied "yes".
He then left and said "let Courier Six handle it".

Then in Dead Money we can get an ending slide or a dialogue option with Christine where she explains that she was once helped by a Courier with "the old worlds flag on his back".
This courier which helped her was looking for "another courier".

And then in The Merge's ending slider it says that The Merge did not hear more of "The Courier" (The player character) until he heard tales of The Divide where TWO couriers fought together/against each other.

Ah, the flag on the back. That's what I missed. Thanks, fish guy.

So basically the Great Divide is probably the next DLC. I've wondered why did Ulysses back out of making that delivery did he know that Benny was going to kill him or did something else come up.

My guess is that Honest Hearts is the next DLC and will include New Caanan and Joshua Graham.

Oh, and Gabe, don't forget that in the game files, theres a weapon that looks EXACTLY like an American Flag Pole along with an Eagle tipped on the top. This is clearly Ulysses' weapon.

I think you'll be given the oppurtunity to fight with or against Ulysses.
