The Companion's Pest, Farkas

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 10:01 am

At level 50, when entering Whiterun, Farkas, one of the Companions, follows me wherever I go in Whiterun, complaining about needing more training and how he'd bored and needs some action. This happen continuously whenever he gets within 20 feet of my charecter. She can't shake him long enough to interact with other NPC's , including his own brother, in order to join the companions. I finally was able to join by beating Farkas into submission, hence during his recoup, I was able to interact with the leader of the Companions. However, the first quest involves accompaning Farkas into dungeon to retrieve an item. It turns out Farkas is a werewolf and is essential to the quest, therefore he cannot be killed. So now, instead of helping my Avatar, like he says, he wants to talk as we are being assaulted by the minions. Anyone have any ideas how to shut this hairy pest up and get him to act right?

[spoiler]

He's following you because you started the quest to join the Companions and he's going to follow you until you finish the quest. He won't stop talking. This annoys me too.

I just wish he'd actually fight on the quests where I have to bring him along. Most of the time he just stands there getting beat on and generally getting in the way.

Do you have a bounty? Farkas and his brothers are marked as guards, so they will "arrest" you if you have a bounty.

Made it through the quest by using a staff of paralysis on Farkas. He was far more use as a decoy for the minions than the help he claimed to be. Gungho 1 was right. I finished the quest quickly and I've joined the Circle.
