The Companions Questions.

Post » Tue May 29, 2012 11:24 pm

Okay so yesterday i started the quest "Proving Honor" for the Companions. I know that ones you reach the room with the fragment that there is also a word wall, my question is this. Can i read the word on that wall already even though i have not started with the main quest yet, and as such have not met any dragons and such? Although i did talk to Jarl Balgruuf and Farengar. (Now you may ask how i know of the word wall in that quest...well i hat a previous warrior with which i hat started that quest and i reached the end room of that quest. But i made the stupid mistake of deleting the savegames before backing them up. )

My second question concerns the armor that several members of The Companions are wearing. Can it be bought or found some where, also is it any good and can it be upgraded by smithing? And the armor i mean is seen on the below picture.

I believe their armor is "Wolf Armor" which can be purchased from Eorlund Gray-Mane at the Sky Forge.

As to your first question...I'm not sure. I played the MQ pretty straight up until I gained the ability to learn and use shouts, then went off into side adventures.

Ah great thanks Beerbaron. :D

Yeah i would like to play it as part of the MQ as well, but remembering from the last time i thought...hey if i am here already. I think i will just make a note of that word wall so i can go there after i obtained the first shout during the MQ.

I always learn words before I meet my first dragon. It's practically expected, since Riverwood leads you to one.

You can always learn the words, you just can't unlock them without dragon souls/starting the MQ.

That is good to know that at least it will not mess something up in the main quest should i decide to read it before hand. Handy to know, thanks Tale and Serethil. :)
