The Creation Kit won't launch on my laptop.

The Creation Kit launches fine on my desktop PC, which is in my media room but it fails to launch on my laptop, which is where I'll be doing my modding.

When I try to run the Creation Kit on my laptop I get the Steam 'Preparing to lauch Creation Kit' pop-up very briefly and then it disappears and nothing happens.

It's a high-end laptop with a top of the line i7 and a good Nvidia dedicated GPU, plenty of RAM, etc so I don't imagine that system specs would be an issue.

Any solutions?

I'd recommend rebooting steam first, and if that doesn't work then just reboot your computer.

If the Creation Kit still won't run, then go to its properties in steam and select "Verify local tool cache" under "Local content". (All by memory, so labels might not be quite right)

This will make sure no files are missing or corrupt, and fix any problems it finds. It won't re-download any files you already have.

Try to delete the http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1258133-installing-from-disc-instead-of-steam/page__view__findpost__p__19697983 file and it could be the same issue when Skyrim was out, because I did that when I couldn't install Shogun 2 Total War last year and once that file was deleted the installation was completed. :tes:
