To the developers ( Fallout NV )

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 7:28 pm

Hi I'm not sure if it's been discussed, but I think the game could really use a 180 degree turn button. When I play Fallout 3 I always find myself wanting to spin around quickly when I'm hit from behind instead it takes too long to turn the camera around even on high sensitivity.

It's obviously too late in production to make requests but I'm really hoping to see more variety of houses, and better all-round customization.(Character, weapons, armor, houses etc)

That is all :)

EDIT: Yes should have mentioned I'm not a PC user but a console user.

What system are you on? I can make a 360 degree turn fine on the PC(less than a second).

Yea I can spin around no problem as well on PC. You know what, how about if your on PC, and FOSE is released for NV, I will make a mod that adds that, just for you.

OP has to be using a controller of some sort, because I've never had this issue and my mouse sensitivity is really low.

OP try spamming VATS. It might trigger.

It's obviously too late to point out this is a pointless thread. But so are most of the other ones!

good news! you're getting the better customization, at least for weapons

That is all :cookie:

I have an xbox 360 & i can have this problem with a few games ,even on high sensitivity.
It's not bothered me alot in fallout, but can do sometimes. Not sure about a 180 degree turn button, may be a solution, but i would prefer it if they did a mouse for xbox 360.
You can use a normal USB keyboard with the 360 & ps3....so why not a mouse.....you can turn 180 degree's in an instant with a mouse.
I'm sure microsoft or sony could do this,i see no reason not to.

I find it rather unnecessary.
We only have a certain number of buttons on the controller and most are taken up.
Just raise the controllers horizontal sensitivity.

What do you find unecessary...the mouse or the suggestion of a button?
Yes you can increase the horizontal sensativity to turn quicker, but that then makes you less precise when aiming for smaller things, because it becomes too sensative.
Just needs to be balanced. You can be alot more accurate with a mouse, than you can with a thumb stick.
Like i said,if they can let you use a keyboard why not a mouse....at least give people that option....just my view :)

Button.

Mouse would be a great idea but it's been a couple of years since 360 and PS3 was released and seemingly neither of them support a mouse.
So maybe for the 720 or PS4.

Yeah, maybe your right...i suppose they would have done it by now :)
Like your take on the new 360 being called 720 :) ....but it will be quite a while before we see new consoles around.
I think the xbox 360 & PS3 still have plenty to offer yet.

They support USB, and USB is universal. It's up to the game to implement it.

Ahyeah.... But have any game actually done that?
Maybe it's just isn't possible or they just thought that the controller works fine and mouse/keyboard never crossed their minds.

There's no reason it wouldn't be possible, controllers work fine through USB and it's all just electrical signals. Probably little demand for it, it'd chain you to a surface, for one, and I imagine most console gamers are console gaming so they AREN'T.

Sorry, I don't believe there's going to be anything like that in this game.
