I'm noticing a lot of posts about this, and I thought we could do everyone a favor by condensing what little we know about it here. For the completely ignorant, it is a save-corrupting bug that seems to crop up around (inside of) Vault 3.
To anyone with information:
What else can cause it besides entry into Vault 3?
How far back do the effects reach (are saves from before the bug also corrupted)?
Are there any current work-arounds?
ANY other information at all is bound to be helpful.

Before even getting to Vault 3, I had talked to the Professor who talks about Vault 3, gives you the mission and the game froze. I think even a mention of it screws it up. Kind of sad, haha.

Just popping in, but, isn't it Vault 23?

It definitely seems that the "Come Fly with Me" mission also causes this problem, I to just finished this mission for a second time and for a second time I now cant load my game saves, next working save is about five hours back, its corrupted about six game saves for me :brokencomputer:

I got it when I entered vault 34 during "hard luck blues" and it corrupted about 5 saves for me, putting me about 8 hours back. so i started a new game and have had only minor freezes but luckily no game breakers

I think it is cuz thats where I had my DLC bug kicked in.

"Come fly with me" and "One for My Baby"

Every time I get to those two quests, finish them, save and quit sometime after the completion, the error appears.

Same here but it also happens when i enter into a vault.... I think it can happen pretty much anywere.

Don't think I've been anywhere near Vault 3, could be wrong tho.

It happened to me after doing the "Hard Luck Blues" mission in Vault 34.

This was after 60hrs gameplay, I had completed "Come Fly With Me" within the first 20hrs.
