The Dovahkiin Needs to Have a Vacation

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 12:32 pm

Let's be honest.
The Dovahkiin has went through months of getting shot at, slashed at, lit on fire, encased in ice, shocked, taunted, and in some cases even killed without complaining once.

And let's not forget to mention, that throughout all of these months, he's barely gotten any sleep, barely (if ever) eaten and the only thing it drinks is potions that honestly--probably taste terrible.

I think the Dovahkiin should be treated to a vacation in the Summerset isles.

Think of it. Fighting the Thalmor (possibly even helping them)...Learning about Artaeum, the home of the Psijjic order.

This DLC should also include some new spells and enchantments, knowing how much the Altmer like Magic.

So, Forum, what do you think of my DLC idea.

why wasn't i here for this post...
sorry for your long wait...

and i like it, no real holes for me to poke this time since it seems to be a fair amount of speculation in what the topic of this is, so it'd give a clean pallet for beth to work with. i like it, and if you haven't read the other dlc stuff ive commented on, anything that doesn't involve sheogorath, i usually have some peeve with it. so this may be a first >_>

Hell nah, a Beach party south of Elsweyr at Topal Sea is a vacation.
It's either the most memorable thing you've experienced or something you can't remember at all

OT : we don't need any DLC that includes parts of provinces we haven't been too yet, we leave them alone until the next TES

I think I would be interested in a special area 'created' just for the purpose of a DLC, like how Slostheim was created for Bloodmoon. Maybe even a return to actual Slostheim, since I hear a lot is going on there now that the Dunmer have trouble inhabiting most of Morrowind.

I don't think I would personally support your DLC idea though. Visiting an entirely new province would be a bad idea because there's no way they could give us the proper detail with just an expansion pack, it needs an entirely new game. Plus, Summerset Island and the Thalmor in general are a long ways away from Skyrim, it's hard for me to see the Dovahkiin going there and involving himself in those lands. It's a story for a new chosen one.

I'd personally much rather have Summerset be a full game, so it's culture and politics can be fully explored, instead of just a DLC.

Summerset looks like a rather small place, so I don't think it'd be such a great idea to feature in its own game.
Also, if it means that much to you, it could be limited to the smaller island in Summerset.

Edit: Which has two holds I believe, so it still gives you a good area to mess around with.

It should be the size of the Shivering Isles, at most.

When I made this thread, I was thinking this myself. So I thought that just in case Beth decides to make a Summerset Isles game, it can be limited to the smaller isle northeast of the mainland.

Shivering Isles is more of a different dimension, not a province.
i'm talking about Black Marsh, Hammerfell, ETC

Since when did the games portray the actual size of the province?
I'm pretty sure Lore wise Skyrim isn't just 16 Miles in diameter.

Every Province deserves it's own game, no less than the others.
I think it'd be a big slap in the face to the Altmer fans to have their province portrayed as valuable as just a DLC.

If it has it's own game I somehow doubt that Beth will include the island to the Northeast, like I mentioned.
And even if it does, it'd be rather interesting to see it go through changes since Skyrim's DLC.

If the island is in property of Summerset Isles then it would surely be included.
If the DLC is gonna be any part of tamriel it'd be either part of Cyrodiil or part of Morrowind since they have already been used.
It'd be nice to stroll down some of Memory lane in good graphics :|

From the look of it, it's about 2/3s the size of Skyrim.

For some reason, I wouldn't count on it.
I also think we'd go to Akavir before going to Summerset isles in a full game, but that's just me :x

I'd say it's slightly under half the size of Skyrim and 1/4 the size of Cyrodil.

Also, let's shift this discussion to the small Summerset Island northeast of the mainland.
What do you think about that as the DLC?

Meh, I'd rather count on the pattern of Bethesda going through by making every Province of Tamriel first before going somewhere else.
But who knows? Might change at one point then someone would get shot. o.o

I wouldn't be all that surprised if we did, although a lot of people would be annoyed because for some people (myself not really included), the whole point of Akavir is how mysterious and faraway it is.

I'd really love it if Bethesda went back to Arena's ways and made EVERY Province of Tamriel playable, but we all know that's not going to happen.

Most would expect that to be the last TES in Tamriel, when were playing games in 4D o.o
