the elder scrolls world or starwars universe ?

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 5:47 am

as starwars is about to get released on blu-ray i thought i'd start this thread just for a bit of fun. if the elder scrolls and starwars were real places that you could live in and you were given a chance to go and live in only one of them. then what type of world would you pick?

i have to admit that although skyrim looks amazing and i love the whole dungeons and dragons thing my childhood obsession with starwars would force me to blast of into space. but are you more into sci-fi or fantasy dungeons and dragons or none of them?

If I had to choose between the two, TES. Despite the periods of the world going to hell, it's much better than the constant shift of Sith this, Sith that, and Jedi incompetence.

Looking at the SW universe outside the movies, I may as well just go for broke and head to Warhammer 40K and get me some GRIMDARK!!!!!

This will probably be moved, but to be on topic, I'll choose Tamriel over Star Wars. Less likely being blown up by the Death Star :spotted owl:

Neither, I'd end up getting killed by a mudcrab ( nasty creatures ) in TES or blown up by the Deathstar in Star Wars.

Prior to the prequels I might have picked Star Wars. But now that using the force is purely a function of midichlorian viral load instead of willpower, discipline, and dedication, what's the point?

Ever since Lucas started chipping away at his original vision, I'd have to say TES.

Neither.
TES world is your usual fantasy world, very generic and bland. Very low life-expectancy, very high odds to be consumed by hellfire for sheer drama effect.
Star Wars universe is anarchy universe where a group of magic cultists over and over defeat the reasonable authority of the Empire.. Yeah I've just seen the films and played a few games, but that's how it seems to me. If the life-expectancy was any higher there, I'd join the Imperial Navy. Were I a Jedi, I'd probably use my powers to pillage some distant planet and make it my own small empire. But all-in-all, I don't like the star wars universe because there millions upon millions of people die because of someone wants to prove their point.

If I could pick such an universe to be in, I'd either be in Fallout universe as long as I was born into the Enclave in early 23rd century, or... Well, that's about it. Maybe the Tevinter Imperium in Dragon Age were I a mage.

The Star Wars universe wouldn't be my first choice, but I prefer science-fiction over fantasy, so that.

i just thought of a new game franchise for Todd to make. a proper sci-fi game where you have loads of different races and mind control weapons as well as hi-tech weapons. fallout was just not really in the zone for me.

Burn the heretic!

The way it seems everyone would be happy if the Jedis just died out and would stop waging war against the Empire, which is obviously too large to be toppled just like that. And if they toppled the Empire? Total anarchy, even more so. It seems to be governing over a large area in space, wiping it out would create a huge power vacuum. So they're evil just because they have red sabers and like black?

The star wars universe is more of an anarchy universe where the same two religious groups keep waging galaxy wide wars with each other. I mean seriously, the galaxy would be a much more peaceful place without the Great hyperspace war, exar kun's little war, The jedi civil war, and on and on and on. However, in terms of safety, there's plenty of low publicity planets in the star wars galaxy that you could live a comfy life in, whereas in TES, if something bad happens in Tamriel, you probably won't have the means of escaping it or avoiding it.

Personally, I would live in the star wars galaxy. Time to start another force user religious war! For the Sith!

@pistolero, word of god is that the dark side of the force ( the side of the force the emperor and darth vader use) is basically a cancer upon the force. So, yes, their evil. But obviously sith evil is better than jedi incompetence. We, at the very least, don't sit with our thumbs up our asses while mandalorians blow up our border territories.

this might sound sick but i really cant wait till george lucas dies so that other people can start making proper advlt starwars films so that the older generation can enjoy it all again. have you watched this vid it gives you an idea of what a new starwars film could be like without george lucas messing about with things.

As skillful as that animation is, I have to say that as soon as I saw the guy with the cowboy hat I switched it off. That's not Star Wars either - more like Call of Juarez.
