The end of the game (spoilers)

Post » Tue Feb 01, 2011 2:44 pm

I know this will have been done to death, but its a great game, and the story is brilliant, up until the end. IMO the ending is completely pointless, yes you find everything out about your choices, but to leave the option of you being perfectly able to carry on exploring but then still just having a anding where nothing else can be done is just stupid in all honesty. At least when fallout 3 did it they showed you, you couldn't carry on.

Of course this is just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt, but my personal thoughts is that they easily could've let the player carry on playing afterwards.

Considering how there are four different endings and each of them have significant effects on the wasteland, it would have taken them way too much work to change the wasteland after the ending. If you side with NCR, then all the Legion camps would need to be destroyed and most of the towns would be under NCR control. If you side with Legion, they would have control of Hoover Dam and NCR would be in retreat with Legion occupying more NCR territory. If you side with House or Yes Man, you would control the Dam and both NCR and Legion would be in retreat. Then there's all the towns that would be affected. That's a ton of extra stuff they need to add.

True, but they could've just told us what happened after, but let us play on from the point we finished at, and then nothing needs to change. Either way, I hope theres a Brocken Steel-esque add-on coming out for it

A lot of crying about this topic. Multiple threads from crybabies not being able to play after they complete the main quest. They give you a HUGE dialogue box at the point of no return, and people do it anyways. Don't complete the main quest, simple.

Or they could warn you about the quest that is the point of no return. And you make a save so you can play before that point all on your own.

A warning about it really has nothing to do with it. I'm just saying that with the ending being how it is, with you still alive, and now part of a team of people, there's really no reason in having an ending like the one in the game, in my opinion its takes away more than it gives.

The Game is a RPG not a World Sim. The Story is over so the game ends. :) If it is to be continued with an expansion or DLC or a sequal.

It is like reading through an interactive Book and go, OMG the book ended. Well of course >.>

I know what you mean but in a way it's more satisfying to have some closure. Besides, there's nothing to stop you from choosing a point to detour from the main quest (I'm currently freeloading in the Lucky 38 while Mr. House is fuming about my lack of delivery of his chip. Screw the guy, you know?) and do all the wandering, leveling and looting you want.

I think it would be pretty pointless to continue after the slideshow. The story has been told, and what you did afterwards could conflict with the slideshow.
