The Falmer are the Dwemer

The Dwemer 'disappeared' but actually just went deep into the earth - there they became feral and blind but now have 'returned.'

Funny but no. The Dwemer disappeared instantly, and they removed themselves from communication with others. Also one of the quests in skyrim gives an indication to the cause of the disappearance of the Dwemer, needless to say it ties into Lorkhan's Heart.

the Falmer were defeated by the nords and forced into isolation in deep dark caves/caverns. The Falmer were known as the Falmer before this and use to co-exist peacefully with the Nords for a time at least.

nope.avi

If you pay attention the Falmer were once like the Altmer in majesty but the Dwemer sort of changed that with slavery. Also.. If you also pay attention to the names of the races you have bosMER dunMER altMER falMER and dweMER. All of them are of the MER (elves) so a different name of MER means a different race of elves entirely.

Morrowind. Play it.

In-game books. Read them.

Both of those simply show that you are wrong. Sorry.

The Dwemer were always deep underground to begin with, so that doesn't work.

he doesn't need to play any other game or read an ingame book guys lol. It's stated at some point during whatever questline that they used to be snow elves and moved underground where they evolved into their current look. Falmer like all the other 'mer' are decendants of the dwemer

The falmer were once called Snow Elves and were slaves to the Dwarves. They revolted and had a war with their masters. In the midst of the war the dwarves disappeared. The snow elves mutated into was is now the Falmer.

No they're not, Eimin! What is stated is that the Dwemer took the Falmer in, made the Falmer eat fungus that made them go blind, and made the Falmer their slaves. Then the Falmer rose up and rebelled, and during the rebellion the Dwemer vanished, and so the Falmer took over their ruins.

And none of the elves were descendants of the Dwemer. If you'd have read more in-game books, you'd already know that in the first era the Dwemer and Dunmer (then called Chimer) were at war with each other.

Everyone quick to slap you down but nobody kind enough to let you know the truth?

When you give a new guy a "Fishy Stick"... you're not supposed to hit him over the head with it.

It's a plausible explanation that Dwemer ruins are infested with Falmer because they Dwemer degenerated to this state...

However the Falmer were are the Snow Elves. The original inhabitants of Skyrim.

When the Nords attacked them they turned to the Dwemer for assistance.

The Dwemer tricked them and fed them a diet that made them blind.

This is why they are often found in Dwemer ruins.

If you ever get to Markarth check out the Dwemer Museum and especially the book titled "The Falmer: A Study".

Hope that's a bit more hepful than the "help" you've received so far.

Duuude, there is a quest where you collect the blood of all the 'mers' to form a pseudo dwemer blood sample. BECAUSE they are all decended from dwemer back in the ole days. So either bethesda messed up on some lorelols or the genetical split just goes further back.

Btw your stuff comes from in game books ( which bethesda has said cannot be trusted because they are written by people in the universe) My information comes from the daedric prince of lost knowledge, yeah, I'm gonna go with dark god over random skyrim historian for my facts

*facepalm* Go back and do the Hermaeus Mora quest again and actually pay attention.

There is NOTHING in that quest that says anyone was "descended" from the Dwemer. And there is nothing about collecting Dwemer blood. Falmer blood, yes. But that's not Dwemer blood.

Whaaat?

I had to collect blood from ALL the mers, including orsimers.

Did they ship two different games? And I swear, I swear, I was told all the mers originated from dwemer IN GAME. Maybe it was a wording thing, maybe they are just similar and thus can fake dwemer blood when mixed, I'll go through it again and see.

STILL, had to collect ALL THE BLOOD -meme

Not the best thing to suggest around here, the lore puritans will burn you at the stake...oh wait, I see they already have.

As for the "Dwemer"; no one really knows what happened to them, they just up and disappeared, some suggestions are they angered the gods with their arrogance, others that the filled soul gems you find in the dwemer machinery are what remains of them.

No, none of the elves were descended from the dwemer, but they are all related, as every current elven species is descended from the Aldmer (not to be confused with the Altmer / high elves). This common ancestry is why they can make fake dwemer blood with the blood of other elves.

The Dwemers tricked the snowelves and poisoned them
now that the snowelves were blind, the Dwemers killed the male ones
and kept the female ones their slaves...

and you know what often a master do to his female slaves....
then the gods were angry for what Dwemers had done,
as a punishment, them eliminated the Dwemer srace
and cursed the bastard children into a monstrosity now known as the falmer

and that is what bethesda never tell ye, the story of how the race of falmer come into being
