The Forsworn Conspiracy - Saved Margaret

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 12:55 am

OMFG, that was a cool animation. I was prepared for Weylin this time (2nd playthrough - female Assissin-type) and as soon as he started yelling I drew her daggers and attacked him. I got the execution animation and I wish I had been recording it. :o

Basically, my chick was standing upright and I think she put her left arm around his neck and pulled him towards her while she skewered him with her right hand. The best part was the expression on her face: she was just looking straight ahead with no expression. I know they don't really change their expressions ever, but it looked really scary-cool. :P

I've seen some amazing kill animations. One of my favs is the dual wield bladed weapon kill. Your character, through either blade slashes or his feet, forces the foe to the knees, then decapitates him scissor-style. I also love when you just get anims right where you want em, like assassinations.

Yep, seen that one on my dual-wielding sword guy. :P

Another cool one I've seen on my chick with her daggers (and maybe with swords, but it looks unnatural) wherein she stabs Falmer through the ear. :o

Update: When I drew my dagger(s) on my girl (first time after the 'rescue') she didn't have both daggers equipped so I'm guessing I wouldn't have gotten that animation if I had been dual-wielding. :o Serendipity.

I've once punched him to death. I felt very satisfied after that!

My favourite finisher is where the enemy is fleeing because they are a coward, and you grab them by their shoulder, and plunge your sword through their back.

I personally like the spinning decapitation. It's Sonja's signature finishing move. Especially after the comment "Is that the best you can do?" I expect during the Civil War against Tullius that heads will roll.

My favorite is if they are one one knee (Tebowing) that you just slice their head off, My least favorite is the warhammer and war axe decaptations, they are the same and not very good, but it gets the job done lol

interesting thought about the Forsworn:

it says the nords originally conquered the Reach from the natives thousands of years ago. But aren't the men of the 500 companions, the first men in all of Tamriel, also technically Nords? So does that mean the natives, the Forsworn, were from the first voyage of Ysgramor, who then settled in the Reach and went native or something?

How did you manage to save Margaret without angering the guards? I one shotted the dude the moment he drew his blade and was immediately attacked by the guards. I've even waited for them to be engaged with him before helping and I still end up fighting the guards.

we talking about the same npc? Cause attacking Weylan has NEVER aggravated the guards for me.

I'm assuming we are. Weylan is the guy in the market of Markarth who back stabs the girl at the jewelry counter, right? You can usually spot that something is a miss before you get down the stairs. I've gone into sneak just before the last step and put an arrow in his head and I've always had to deal with the guards attacking me right after. I've even let him kill Magaret and then while he has been fighting the guards I've dropped him which would also enrage the guards into attacking me.

very strange. As I've said, I've never had that issue. Regardless of whether or not he even draws his blade, when you kill him everyone reacts as if he was just inches from Marg's backside.

How about the move, where you cut their legs and the enemy goes down on their knees and then you use your 2 blades or 2 axes to chop off their head! hahahahahaha Love it! I do like the backstab finisher too!

Hmm, so far I haven't been able to save Margaret... poor woman! But I have saved the murder victim in Windhelm a few times!

@ buckom - LOL you crack me up! Best part was her expression, but she had no expression? isn't that a double negative or something hahahahahahaha

Nords(Nedes back then) weren't the first men on Tamriel. There were native men too(Mostly subjugated by Ayleids and other elves.) The reachmen are a sort of amalgamation of all of the races. They're pretty tame looking in skyrim, but it was said you wouldn't find it unsurprising to see them with tusks like an orc, elf ears, or features from any race.

that's immensely interesting, but I suppose it makes sense. I mean, Ysgramor and his 500 clearly came after the dragon war between men and dragons, so I guess there had to be men on Tamriel prior to then.

Where did you get that info from? To my understanding the Reachmen are mostly Breton, if not entirely. But we all know Bretons are a mix of nede and Aldmer.

She does mostly it's thank you for saving me and you can also ask why she was attacked. She also gives you a necklace IRC.

I calmed Weylin and he basically stopped mid-way in his kill animation. Unforturately he is apparently a stage 4 vampire or something because a dozen guards came out of nowhere to pincushion him.

You guys are too easily impressed by these kill animations. That's how I leveled to 100 Sneak: by slithing throats from behind with insta-kills. That's how my most fights end...

I failed to save Margaret because I didn't see the scene happening, but I'm thinking of resurecting her through the console to make it up to her.

I saved her yesterday on a new char's first visit to Markarth. It always starts the moment I step through the main gate, though I suppose if you arrived after business hours, the script would not execute (no pun intended) until all the actors were in position. Two guards showed up, and Margret gave me a necklace, told me she was just visiting. Then Eltry slipped me his note.
