The Good News about 1.2

Post » Mon May 28, 2012 12:13 am

There are several excellent things that I love about 1.2,

1) Its like the entire game is the Wild Wasteland perk! with things like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xCjK3BD6u4 and http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198050460892/screenshot/630732600912811284?post_id=1456675984_167142526717401#_=_

2) I always have http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUoDfO1pWto&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL to make up my mind about my next tactic

3) The Biggest Reason I love 1.2, I have a reason to play my other games (Metal Gear HD, Uncharted 3, Saints Row the 3rd)

Thanks bethesda for the great game! give me a call when its finished!

You know, whining and senseless bumping isn't going to fix it.

I'm not whining, I just found the new bugs hilarious. especially the mannequin. that surprised me quite a bit.

It's just harmless fun. Not like anyone important at Bethesda would read these forums anyway, they might get some of the lowly peasant grime on them.

The Beth lovers define logic, just like the backward flying dragons.

I have no idea why the majority of people here defend Betheseda no matter what.

According to a lot of people on this forum, nothing is wrong with the game. Anyone that thinks so is a whining. They should get over the fact they bought a game that's only 70% complete. To them, 70% is not good enough, but fantastic.

This game was rushed out to meet a catchy release date of 11-11-11.

Never again will I buy another TeS game new. I'm getting the next TeS used when its $19.99, by then the game should be 100% finished.

I'll buy one new, just to support bethesda. I won't play it for a month or two, but I still will support beth. Why? Because what the game is supposed to be is worth what I payed. I hope they'll turn the game into what it really is under the bugs and glitches soon.

You make a good point. Backwards flying dragons are AWESOME!

Also Uberth, the word you're looking for is "Defy," not "Define." One means to go against, the other means to be the meaning of. Completely opposite meanings for that statement.
Also, the E should be capitalized. It's The Elder Scrolls. Elder is kind of important in the title.

They don't. Most of what I see is people bickering about a video game patch that's been out for about 18 hours.

I'm not a hater, for one. I am however young, but the floating mannequin was taken from MY game just an hour ago. Don't claim its perfect when there is clear evidence to the opposite.

I handbuilt my computer to tear through Skyrim you troll. A mannequin doesn't float due to a user error, it floats due to scripting issues.

Let's not whine more about a floating mannequin. It happened uniquely to you. Nobody else is complaining about mannequins. Hopefully you won't dream of mannequins tonight.

We defend Bethesda because they made a fantastic game that we can all enjoy for just $60 or so. Gaming doesn't get much better than this and there is no monthly subscription like some games have. Frankly, it's a little annoying to hear people whine about this great game.

alright orco, how about we talk about the widespread backwards flying dragon, or the framerate issues that are suddenly popping up after this patch and this patch alone. The game is good, but not perfect. Anyone who believes its perfect has no concept of the word

and Carvvv, I agree with you to an extent, the game is fantastic. But bugs so noticeable and often times gamebreaking are a serious problem and should be viewed as such.

I think the problem that people have is with the melodramatic whining and complaining. Voicing opinions and constructive criticism is fine (preferably in the proper forum sections and threads), but endless and repetitive bashing and stating opinions as facts is tedious. It only drags down the mood and breeds resentment, which you then mistake for "fanboyism". Being understanding and knowing that they are aware of the reports and will work on them doesn't imply a lack of logic. It implies patience and the realization that moaning or throwing around insults rarely yield better or faster results.

Most logical and objective post of the whole day, right there. Summed up what I think of this whole situation.

Actually what I find to be the bigger issue here is the instigators claiming that there is nothing wrong with the game at all and that anyone with a problem should simply just buy a new computer or get it on a platform. It's very hard to tell if someone is simply just being sarcastic or they actually believe this game is completely bug free after playing it 50 hours, versus someone who's played it over 250 hours.

The only bug, if I were to nitpick, would be the repeated dialogue. After 175 hours of gameplay, I can say it with them. It's like the movie, Groundhog Day.

Anyone who says the game is perfect is doing a great disservice to the community. It is an excellent game but it is far from perfect. The main problems have been highlighted - I am in no doubt that Bethesda will fix the game-breakers, but like previous TES iterations, the rest will be left up to the fantastic modders out there. It's par for the course. Bethesda have form in this respect.

But I do have some sympathy with them being deluged with immature, disrespectful and unhelpful rants from impatient children. It's just not helpful - please channel your anger into constructive criticism. There's no need to be rude.

There are quite a few bugs, to be certain. I think everyone realizes that. It just gets annoying to see complaining about such a great game. I think that is why you see people lashing out with suggestions to buy a new pc, etc.

I don't think nothing is wrong with the game. It has some issues, but people are blowing them way out of proportion. The game runs fine for me. As for resistance not working, I cant say since i hardly use any, and have yet to see a dragon fly backwards, or any other mentioned bug on this thread.

This game was rushed out to meet a catchy release date of 11-11-11.

Never again will I buy another TeS game new. I'm getting the next TeS used when its $19.99, by then the game should be 100% finished.
4+ years and you say rushed?

Open world games are notorious for having bugs. They are impossible to 100% play test for ever possible problem. This is not limited to Skyrim or other TES games. And before you say to look around the forums, I counter with you looking at other game forums. Rage had major game crippling issues on release like textures not being written to memory. Every game has their flaws, it is just peoples ignorance and shortsightedness that prevents them from seeing that Skyrim is lax compared to the problems some other games have.
