The Grand Reopening of the Lucky 38

Post » Fri Jun 10, 2011 9:06 pm

There needs to be a update or DLC that allows the Courier to reopen the Lucky 38 if he offs Mr. House. You could go around the Mojave, hiring card dealers and bar tenders. Random NPCs would spawn in the 38, playing the games, or having a relaxing drink in the Cocktail lounge. And every so often, your cut of the casino's earning would spawn in the casino cage (where all the safes are on the 1st floor). Part of it could be returning to the 38's basemant to get the lights and stuff running again.Since you own the casino, you cant make or lose any money off the tables or slots, this would allow you to practice or just play around with the game's gambling system without risk of losing your caps.

Hate to say it but I think it will never happen. A little to specialized of a mod. No new areas, no call for new weapons/enemies.. What would be the point? To make cash? Its not exactly hard to make tons of it already. Also as a console user, once you have over a certain amount of cash, what can you possibly do with it?

I'd rather see a point lookout type expansion. But then again I am biased as a pc user. New environments for modders to play with adds to the dlc's worth. For example, I hated zeta for fallout 3, but I loved some of the mods that used it.

As much as I'd like to see it happen, it won't. It seems more like a mod that someone would do, and not the dev. That would be quite a boring DLC, running a Casino.

I just recently finished making the Lucky 38 awesome (as best as possible using only in game assets and being on the 360)

It is in the form of a save so its not like I can give out what I have done so people could use it in there saves, they would only be allowed to see anything that i have done if they were using my save.

Anyway, my point is that you can mod your save and work on the Lucky 38, you can't change the slot machines to being usable since they are static but you could remove them and then use a different casinos slots in there place. But if you get banned from that casino then it would cover the ones you placed. I did put a lot of Enclave Soldiers around the Strip, FreeSide and the Lucky 38 casino and gave them Tesla Armor with YSC/86s.

The modding that I am talking about does not used modified consoles or anything like that. Just a plain old USB and a standard 360.
Also I convert my save back and forth from PC to 360 to make it easier to work on since I have to use console commands to disable objects, place certain objects and ally different factions that would normally be enemies. (Like Gojira and everyone as well as Enclave and everyone)

Still involves the 360 though, and we don't want any discussions about that here :nono:
