I'm the head of the dark brotherhood

So why is Nazir still giving me quests and paying me for completing them? Shouldn't i be giving him the quests and paying him?

That's kind of annoying, no?

The money comes from the people that request the contracts. You really don't know how the Dark Brotherhood works, do you?

If you did Nazir's quests as you complete the main quests, they are finished before you become the Listener. Then you take your orders from the Night Mother. :)

Think of this in the perspective of a game developer making a game for likely a population of 60% teenagers who want to do nothing but slay dragons. Are you going to implement a feature that takes away your glory of killing, and gives it to somebody else?

It's a game, which should involve playing.

You're just the Listener, first off. Second, you wouldn't be doing that, because the money goes to whoever completes the contracts and you'd most likely keep it all for yourself if you could do that (I know I would).

While it would also make more sense for the Listener to give the contracts to the lower ranking members, it can't exactly be done quite well in a game because what exactly is the fun of making NPCs go out to do contracts while you sit on your ass in the sanctuary...?

Haha, true. I guess I was just looking for a little more benefit out of finishing the storyline. I wish they would extend it so I was the one who received contract requests from people, and then gave them out to the new recruits, etc. Additionally, they could extend it out so that I had to go find new recruits for the brotherhood and such.

I find it strange that when the Night Mother gives you those assassins quest. You can't order those Initiates to do it for you.

I suppose you could command them to come with you, be a tutor kind of thing.

You don't really want an oblivion-style radiant quest from the Night Mother do you?

*whisper whisper whisper* *teleport to Cheydinhal* "BISHPLZ GO KILL DIS DOOD N GIMMIE MAH MONEY" "kthxbai!"

You're the Listener. Your job is to listen to the Night Mother and inform other members about what you heard. Traditionally, Dark Brotherhood's only source of contracts is what the Listener tells them, but as you already know, DB is in ruins and nobody in Skyrim heard the Night Mother until you came along. So they have relied on people all over the province giving them information about those who might have performed the Black Sacrament.

Even if the DB can talk to the Night Mother again, it doesn't mean their network of agents suddenly disappeared. Nazir still recieves information from his previous sources and gives out the jobs.

Logically, the information should probably go straight to you, not to Nazir, but since it's a game and you're the only person who takes the contracts anyway, it doesn't matter.

Who wouldnt like sitting on one's ass and watch pots of money chug themselves in? :D
Anyway, this was done in oblivion if i remember correctly. You just had to collect the names or something; you wouldnt get any more "killing action".
