The hero of Cyrodill a bad guild leader?

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 3:15 pm

Considering that there is no more mages guild, fighters guild is weakend, dark brotherhood is weakend, and the thieves guild is but a fraction of its former self. It dawned on me that the hero from the elder scrolls:Oblivion is not a very good leader.Considering he drove most of them into the ground. Maybe it is due to the fact he slowly went mad and left them all for the shivering isles?I also think that there is no more Knights of the nine anymore.

There's about 200 years between Oblivion and Skyrim. I don't see why the PC from Oblivion would be the cause of current events.

Presuming the CoC actually did lead all of the guilds, he really wasn't. The guilds all fell apart for different reasons that had little to do with their temporary unnamed leader.

That's like saying George Washington was responsible for the gulf war.

This is like blaming Thomas Jefferson for today's social and economic problems.

except that George Washington wasn't alive durring the gulf war. The hero from oblivion became sharagoth (dedric prince) in shivering isles, we EVEN MEET HIM IN SKYRIM and he point blank says that he was "right beside martin" during the whole oblivion crisis.

Parts of the TES Lore are left open and unexplained for role playing purposes. It allows us to create our own lore into the official and existing lore.

I was the leader of the DB in OB. My character is a Dark elf, they live a long time. He went into Sheo's realm became mad and remained there for nearly 200 years Nirn time. During that span, crap happened (haven't read the books) and the DB pretty much got destroyed. Some how, some way, I came back and regained my sanity. This is why the Night Mother knew who I was after 200 hundred years and immediately made me the Listener. My temporary absence in the Shiviring Isles was necessary as it made me stronger and shaped me into a better leader (despite the fact that I went mad for a while). Now I am more powerful then ever and the DB will thrive.

He's called the mad god for a reason. He may have eaten the hero of oblivion for all we know, and is simply lying.

The Mage's Guild fell apart at the start of the Fourth Era. The Fourth Era started immediately once Martin became the Avatar of Akatosh.

The Champion of Cyrodiil most likely didnt live into his/her 200s... Like not even if he/she was an Elf. Which means there was at least one other Leader per Guild in the 200-year timespan between the Oblivion Crisis and the Return of the Dragons.

Well, if you think the Champion of Cyrodiil was leader of all of those, no wonder they fell apart. He obviously had a lot on his plate.

Well think about this the hero of cyrodill went missing after the events with sheogorath so they lost their leader and might of just fell apart cause of new bad leaders.

So far as I know the fighters guide still exists it simply never had a presence in Skyrim. The fall of the Dark Brotherhood can be blamed on the Thalmor and The Great War actually.
