The HUD (and drawing items onto it)

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 12:51 am

I was wondering if i can draw images on the hud. And if it's possbile how i would go about doing that.

Basicly there are 2 things I'm interested in ..

1.) Can i draw hud elements on screen? Like the xp bar or the health bar for eaxample.

2.) Can i draw a full screen texture on the hud? Like in Mass effect for example, the film grain full screen effect.

cheers.

Mass Effect's film grain is actually a full-screen shader, not just some texture ;)

The HUD is defined by a set of XML files, so should be fairly easy to change and add elements to.

Well yeah, but I'm curious if i can do something similiar. Though i would only be needing to overlay a transparant texture over the hud. But i never used hud elements so i'm not sure if i can do it. And an imagespace modifier doesn't seem to allow it either.

NVSE's inevitable SetUIFloat might be what you're after.
