The Legion or Stormcloaks Radiant Quests

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 2:02 am

Every (or most) of the joinable guilds have some form of radiant questline that can be followed. Randome people to kill, random house to rob, etc. But there is NONE for the civil war quests. Even the blades offer these random quests to hunt dragons (at least, i think theirs are infinent...). Why dont the two faction of the war have some? Regardless of who won the war, you didn't wipe out every single troop of the enemy. You could report to the military learder (legate or Ulfrics guy) and they can give you one of a few reports;

-Fort X is under attack, help defend it (similar to the defense of Whiterun, just keep the enemy from entering the fort or overrunning you)
-They've take fort Y, launch a counter attack (your standard invasion-type mission that is done during the main plot)
-Town Z has been seiged of has pledged allegence to the enemy (Kill the enemies in the town/ talk to citizens to lead an uprising*)
-They've kiddnapped important noble/ military dude W (sneak into a fort to free the person in question)
-RARE EVENT: Somehow they've amassed enough forces our base! (base being either Solitude or Windhelm)

* this could be done by talking to random citizens and then be told of a hidden weapons stash in someones basemant. Grab the gear and bring it back to the guy. At Dusk, they'll attack.
** Any citizens who die will respwan after the mission is over (or towns will get real empty real fast)

Idonno, I think this could add tons of replayabillity to the game and make joining a faction more enjoyable. Logic behind the endless forces could be that the legion is gettting reinforcements from Cyrodiil. The stormcloaks are alittle harder, but the Dominion could have something to due with their continued funding and resources. Forces for them could be comming from...idunno...Solthiem?

Even worse, at the end of the civil war (at least for the Stormcloaks) Ulfric says that he hopes you will kill Imperials if you stumble upon them in your exploring. Well, a little while after that, I find this Imperial camp west of Whiterun at night, sneak attack and kill every soldier but the captain is... immortal. How lame is that. Why have Imperials immortal AFTER the civil war. Makes no sense.

lol, i forgot about the camps. They could serve as staging grounds or local attacks or just be a little treat for the player to kill. Like enclave camps in fallout 3.

This bugged the crap out of me so bad, haven't even touched the civil war quest line since then. Creation Kit can't come out soon enough.

Did the Enclave fight with the Brotherhood of steel Members in f3?

Um, well, ya...thats half of the plot. I mean, they could just be there (enemy camps) as something for the player to have fun attacking...get rid of the imortal general OR, better yet, once you defeat his camp and him, tell him to send the messafge to other camps that your screwed...

Agreed. To keep this alive, anyone else have any improvements they want to make to the civial war plotline. Please consider the actual feasiblity on Bethesdas part for doing it.

EDIT: On this note, at the start when you flee Helgen and your companion tells you about how Tulius will find a way to end the dragons...why does nothing come of it? There is litteraly not one real dragon related ordeal in the who plotline.

Yeah i also found this very annoying. Way too many immortals in the world of Skyrim.
