The little things in Skyrim...

So what little touches in Skyrim do you find pretty cool? I like the fact that when running in first person and you switch to 3rd person, the camera does not jump straight back, it just zooms back. it's pretty cool. what about you?

Being able to sprint, Wildlife usually won't attack you unless you get to close to them and the skyboxes, seeing the nothern lights in Skyrim always give me comfort and there just a spectatular sight to see.

I like the sprint option, the wild life is amazing the weather and mist on the mountains. The attention to detail in the game world, this is one of the best virtual worlds ever created.

Fishes you can find in lakes and ponds. Finishers and especially the cut-head-off-finisher you can get with a battle axe.

That Skyrim has by far the best Night Skies I've ever witnessed in a Open world, Hark! any game I've ever played.

You Can Shoot the birds and kill the bugs.

Some birds "nest" and take off and come back again, no not that stupid anim you see at Riverwood everytime you cross the bridge nonononononno Actual birds taking off and flying into the sky and shootable.

people move about and do things, it does get annoying watching that little brat from Whiterun effectively run a marathon around Whiterun not really doing anything (I swear I saw her move by the smithy 5 times...) but I prefer it over anything Oblivion/Morrowind did with NPC's

Ice and Fire sticks the the ground ala Dark messiah.

When your weapon is blocked by a shield IT IS BLOCKED, and does not glide across the NPC unrealistically.

The night skies are amazing.

I have to add that the traps in many dungeons are surprising and also very awesome.

Are you talking about the hawk you see very often over the Riverwood? I shooted it down with my first character.

nah thats a killable bird, the animals I am talking about function much in the same way bats do, an effect that streams off the trees when you are cross the river via bridge near Riverwood.

I have never saw that one. Bats I saw in Bleak Falls Barrow but never birds. I wonder why.

I like finding bodies with little pieces of evidence (like journals). It's fun discovering what happened.

The look of the water flowing around rocks.

How realistic the flora looks, even close up.

The fact that, unlike in Oblivion, the deer/elk/moose let me get right up close to them ... coupled with the fact that, by contrast, they run from my werewolf character on sight. I don't know whether it's a coincidence or he smells like a wolf, but it makes for great RP.

The snowstorms, with the wind sometimes blowing the snow straight up.

The northern lights.

Foggy days.

The variety of wildlilfe.

Bookshelves, working and looking the way they always should have.

Agreed. Early on in the game I was walking on a bridge near Sleeping Tree Camp towards the mountains, and I saw Skyrim's version of the Aurora Borealis. The whole view was magical. :tes:

I'll pick one thing: the Dremora. They're just all-around awesome, in the way they look and the things they say to enemies when summoned.

I actually like the fact that rivers have a current that sweeps you along and waterfalls and that if the water is deep enough to swim where a waterfall meets the river if you swim under it you are pushed down further

I love the carriage system, and the cool little animation that they put in rather than it just fading out when you click on where you want to go.

I also love being able to use a bow in third person. It may not seem like a big deal but I love doing it in third person and not having to switch to first.

Also the amount of character animations they put in the game, it was suprising when I started the first Dark brotherhood quest and woke up and saw her sitting on top of a book shelf.

Yea this, I recently found the small camp outside Sjournes Sinkhole, the story in the journal there was kind of sad. I think they way Bethesda puts so much detail into everything, even if it is not quest related. The absorb you into the world and the story.

I find it cool that NPCs will sometimes warm their hands over flaming barrels.

I do as well. Theres a couple of places ive seen so far (one in particular right outside whiterun, around the outer wall to the right when exiting the main gate... There is a stream and it runs into a pond or small lake) there is a skeleton arm sticking out of the lake holding a sword... Its awesome. I made a sick picture for my save screen. Lol. Theres another in a lake by that eldergleam area by mistwatch... A skeleton with a sword stabbed in its back. I left the weapons alone. You know, just incase it screws with somethin.

I also love the bugs. It adds so much depth. And finding journals. I find it more rewarding to read journals rather that most books. And i love how i can be caught off guard by wandering wildlife when im too busy harvesting clams or snowberries. And everytime i see a poor dead rabbit, i search for that sabre cat or bear so i can avenge fluffy.

The dungeons and caves are incredible. No more basic-ness like in oblivion. I love walking in to a new cave and theres glowing mushrooms lighting the area. ...sometimes theyre a pain in my a$$... And i cant just pick them all for some reason... Im trying to hide stupid shroom!

I like the little actions npcs perform, such as an innkeeper wiping the counter or someone warming their hands over the fire. It's much better than how everyone just stood staring off into space in Oblivion.

I also like that innkeepers show you to your room instead of just telling you where it is.

I like all the little journals they put in dungeons. Even though it doesnt require much effort, it makes the dungeon quite a lot more interesting.

The sky boxes that resemble the skill perk trees. Absolutely beautiful.
