Ok, ok!! I didn't know the "other" tech thread infused itself with Macs, I thought it was window type PCs! Sorry!! Ok?!? But now we have this, just let it be....

This could be good though. It'd be nice to have a place to discuss all things Mac without the inevitable PC elitist comments coming from various members of this forum (you know who you are :stare:).

I'll start off with a question about iMovie. I'm running it on my iMac OS X Snow Leopard 2.66 GHz intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3.

My question is this: When I'm editing a video, when I put it in widescreen mode, while it does make it widescreen, it also seems to cut the top and bottom of the footage off, ever so slightly, I'd say it's a good inch that's cut off. Is there any way to fix this?

There's a http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1165205-unofficial-linux-thread/, so an OSX/iOS/Apple thread wouldn't be out of place. But the general tech thread doesn't exclude anything technological :).

EDIT:

I'm not a PC elitist. That would just be silly, since "personal computer" can be used to describe pretty much anything from a desktop (be Mac, Unix, Linux, Windows, ReactOS, OS/2...) to mobile phones ;).

I do, however, dabble in GNU/Linux elitism :shifty:.

It's due to the fact that the video is taller than your screen, this is because it's made for a tv display. There is no way of fixing it that I know of except to add a widescreen effect through iMovie.

Ps. Nice deadmau5 avatar! Meowington HAX!
Hope this helps! :celebration:

Figures.
Also, I know I can increase my RAM on my iMac, but is it at ALL possible to replace the video card? It's not really a big deal, I know Macs don't usually come with this option and that's fine with me, it's not a gaming rig by any means, but it'd be "nice" being able to replace the graphics card.

Even if it voids the warranty, is it possible? Or is the card that comes with an iMac integrated in a way that makes it not possible?

And thanks, Deadmau5 for the win.

Skrillex>Deadmau5, however.

You can add more ram, just not change the vid card. For more ram just go to the apple store and for 200$ they will add 4gigs(or less)
