The Mad God..

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 3:21 pm

So, in Oblivion i found it pretty awesome that you got to go to Sheogoraths realm, and the story was, while a little weird and twisted at some points, it was awesome. i personally would love to see some DLC dealing more with the daedra but i dont really know what would work as DLC and what wouldnt. Thought, Opinions, Comments?

I'd personally like more content from Shivering Isles since Sheogorath is my favorite Daedric Prince but I'd not expect to get it since it's already been done in Oblivion... I'd also like to meet Hermaeus Mora, Vaermina, Azura, and maybe Clavicus Vile in their own realms... Namira would be interesting but an entire questline for Namira would, no doubt, revolve around killing lots of undead and such and that just gets old after a while...

Not so much bad, more or less just that it would get old after a while...

The quest involving Shogorath was so boring. Kind of fitting for him though. After it ended, I walked away with this useless staff, tucked it somewhere I don't even remember.

Sheogorath is the coolest of all the d?dra but Akatosh is definitely the most powerful. He was the first of them, read it in a book somewhere. Also he wipes out mehrunes dagon in oblivion like it was nothing.

Sheo is on vacation in this one , so you'll have to settle with meeting him in another man's disturbed mind and wabbajack stuff to death and then have interesting conversations of the military usefulness of cheese.

I thinking mean Meridia here. She's the one that hates undead. Namira is Daedric Prince of Revulsion and Ancient Darkness.

Just to clarify, Akatosh is not Daedra but Aedra. Huge difference. The Nine (or Eight if you're in the anti Talos camp) are the Aedra or Gods of the TES universe. Daedra are more akin to demons for lack of a better comparison.

It would be interesting if they released a DLC where the Daedra realised that all of them basically have shares in your soul and you are then wisked off to Oblivion to go and unravel the mystery of who the rightful owner of your sould actually is. You should be required to go and present your case before each of them and perhaps do a few tasks to earn forgiveness for leading them on. Each prince and his realm would be unique and have tasks that would fit.

I think I'd go explode with glee if there were gods madder than the one that requires you to bludgeon an old man to death.

Domination comes in all sorts of form. Extortion, slavery, mental domination, phusical domination and all sorts of stuff.

Meridia is the Prince with the hatred of the Undead, Namira is the cannibalistic, repulsive-loving Prince.

I'd love to go see Hermaeus Mora's realm. He/she often strikes me as the most enigmatic of the lot.

This. Bethesda screwed up with this ignorant stupid-silly quest. It was so pointless.

I'd love to see Azura's realm, which is supposed to be unimaginably beautiful. The problem is that anything the game designers can create would be, by definition, imaginable. So it would be pretty hard to do it justice.

I have a theory that all the Daedric princes are essentially officeholders who are occasionally replaced. Sheogorath has a line in Skyrim where he describes his mantle as "a family title passed down from me to me every few thousand years," which could be interpreted as meaning that the Champion of Cyrodiil wasn't the first mortal to assume that role. If I'm right, another expansion were we become a Daedric prince is quite plausible.

Or maybe the Dragonborn will do one better that the Champion of Cyrodiil and become an Aedra. According to lore, mortals have made that ascent before.

Yeah, Molag Bal wouldn't exactly make for the sort of expansion Wal-Mart would feel okay about putting on their shelves. That big "mace" he gives you? Yeah, not actually a mace.
