The Main Quest is underrated.

Sure, it had it's low points (The Blades, the ending), but otherwise I think the MQ was an expertly well-crafted story.

Opinions?

I just think there was no.. epic feeling. I don't know how to further my opinion due to the no spoilers requirement on the forum....

I enjoyed it far more than Oblivion's main quest. But not quite as much as Morrowind's main quest.

No,
Spoiler
what about the civil war? The greybeards? The civil war only matter in the season unnending while it was pretty much hyped as part of the MQ in the beginning, The greybeards seems to be plot device like the psijic order except when they named you ysmir, and even all that Ysmir ceremony doesn't mean anything.

Hadvar/Ralof who is pretty much the Baurus of Skyrim in the beginning did not make another appearance. The dragonpriest and the ressurected dragons are not even used in the MQ, I mean come on, how come Alduin ressurecting dragons are not part of MQ?

Wrap it in [spoilerTEXT/spoiler] to remedy that.

I thought there was plenty of epic.

Ride a dragon for an epic assault on Alduin's portal to Sovngarde? Yes, please.

Could perhaps belong in the spoiler section but that's not my call.

Anyways, I didn't find it very exciting. Fun at some points but we're talking about the main questline. I'd expect it to be great all the way, but sadly, that's not the case with this. I found the Civil War questline more fun.

Spoiler
Going into Sovngarde was amazing, but the final battle with Alduin was a huge let down. It really killed the tension between the Dragonborn and Alduin. Instead of finishing off your greatest enemy one on one, you are assisted by some weird Nord warriors you barely know, scratch that, don't even know. And when I finally got back to Tamriel, I didn't feel a sense of completion what so ever. I was just confused.

I liked Oblivion's questline a little more and Morrowind's far more.
