How Manly Is Your Character?

This is for those who fight on Hard or Very Hard.

I play on Hard-hardcoe, with a melee character who can solo Three Deathclaws without Stims, Vats, or Turbo and other drugs.
That drops to one or two on very hard

How Manly is Yours?

This is not a poll about Guns and Projectile Weapons, This is SKULL bashing

By the way, Slugging means hitting with something Blunt / Bladed.

Snipers should not refer to themselves as Deathclaw Sluggers.

I just made it to level 30 after 160 hrs on my first playthrough (very hard + hardcoe + harder hardcoe rates mod + expensive wasteland mod).

Even at this point (with super slam perk), I still cannot make it past packs of deathclaws or cazadores without some turbo.

The trick to fight with Cazador melee/unarmed is to spam.......and maybe a stack of 10 food/drink.

Yet to fight any alpha+ deathclaw yet.....but I think 1on1 is as good as you can do.......

Nah. Take a page from us snipers.

Get up high on a rock. Above the Deathclaw. Jump, and hit it with a power attack. Then VATS the bastard when your feet hit the ground as he's turning around.

You WILL need chems and stims, but you'll still be taking on more than one Deathclaw, with the Alpha + guys in the mix. Truth be told, you'll want to get their attention with a 9mm bullet first, unless you can get a sneak attack in..

Im fine with fighting deathclaws as long as they dont pounce from out of nowhere....if they do then its a SWEET SASSY MOLASSY! moment :eek:

With a couple doses of Turbo, large packs of deathclaws and cazadores are no problem at all for a melee build with super slam, even while wearing light armor and without using VATS.

In my opinion, the Manly way is to run straight at it and initiate the Bludgeoning - No Ninjaing from above

I killed the Legendary Deathclaw that way.

Thank God that the Knockdown perk worked on that big bastard

Turbo is just as Good as Godmode. Where is the fun in fighting slow enemies?

Payback is always fun! Those cazadores and deathclaws killed me so many times it was very refreshing to turn the tables on them.

And it's not quite god mode because it only lasts a couple seconds. Even with several doses, you can still get taken down by a large pack if you don't have quick reflexes to dodge their attacks. And there is a limited amount of Turbo in the game unless you get the recipe.

Good Points, but doesn't it feel alot better to spatter their brains without calling upon 'Help'?

Admittedly, Cazadores are more of a pain than Deathclaws to Melee users

Try using FRAPS if you are on a PC. (Although I noticed FRAPS conflicts with the 4GB exe loader.)

Heavens forbid us snipers call ourselves that, we are Deathclaw Overlords thank you kind sir...... cause from the proper position we can clear out those little pesky Pete's with one of our beloved rifles without chems or breaking a sweat. B)

Agreed. My lvl 30 char can't take 2 hits from the legendary deathclaw while 'it' can melee me from 5+ meters away and the 1st blow staggers me. So basically you have to take him in 1 punch/slash. Sounds impossible.

Since I play female characters most of the time I would feel kinda weird having them being incredibly "manly". O_o

Agreed my current character is a girl.

Although my last character was so manly that he punched the alpha deathclaw in its ovaries. :disguise:

Xbox 360, Cannot use Fraps (Not Pc), Cant afford a Camera

The Legendary guy is a pain in the Ass.

The trick is to get him to lunge you and miss, then knock him on his face with the Melee knockdown perk and keep chopping with Power Attacks.

No One is manly enough to fight him sword to claw without that perk (In my Knowledge)

Well, womanly-ness, anyway, since my char was female-- I have successfully knocked down 3 advlts and beaten them to death with Love and Hate + Super Slam perk & 100% unarmed.

Also got killed several times trying it, so there you go... they have really long reach.

A few months ago there was an awesome fraps film posted of someone going into Old Olney in FO3 and killing a Deathclaw bare-fisted, no VATS, no Paralysing Palm, no chems, (no Super Slam in that game).

Anyone know where to find that? I can't find it on youtube anymore.
