The meaning behind arrows in the knee

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 10:33 am

The arrow in a knee phrase that the guards mention repeatedly. I worked out its actual meaning!

Its actually an easter egg!
If you think about it - its actually a reference to the fact that Greaves arent in Skyrim.

In previous games, there was armor that went over the knees, thus protecting them.

In skyrim, there's nothing, so thats why so many of them took arrows to the knee!

No, we still have helmets.

Not all helmets cover your entire face.

I used to be an arrow like you. Then I took a knee to the adventurer.

There is something. Full armour sets. Most cover the knees.

No, we still have helmets.
But not in TES VI, they will be removed :P

Well that is good to the OP for figuring it out. I guess it's not really an Easter Egg (more of mocking us :P), but more of a joke. I am still waiting for Miaq to say something about riding a Dragon, while dual wielding a spear in Wearwolf form to mock us.

That's totally untrue!

The bits of information don't need to be related... :disguise:

It is a reference to films where a character would say something along the lines of "I used to be an officer like you, then I took a bullet to the knee", and now he is security guard.
