The merchants sound like robots.

Anybody ever notice the merchants/blacksmiths all have the same lines? No matter who I talk to it's either "the finest weapons and armor" or "Odds ends that sort of thing". Over 70+ voice actors I can't believe they made most of them have the same exact lines. It's one thing to have guards say the same things and that's completely fine because I don't need to talk to them that much anyway but the people I have to constantly buy/sell things to gets pretty old. Even though the dungeons and graphics are nice I think Bethesda spent way too much time on them and not enough time on towns and npcs. Anyone else feel this way?

Btw, to clear things up I'm not just talking about merchants, I'm talking about npcs in general.

Merchants and smiths are only the tip of the iceberg. I'm finding the whole "70+ voice actors" line to be a load of bull. One of my only real disappointments with Skyrim...

Imagine that NPC saying "ohh, a piece of candy" and you will think him James Woods forever onwards.

If they do have 70+ voice actors I think they went with quantity over quality because I find npcs dull and uninteresting. I feel the same way with the quest because it's always go to a this dungeon bring back X and repeat.

That's one line I never get tired of :celebration:

I somewhat prefer this to Oblivion's "just open the menu" way of approaching things.

When has this been different? It's always been go here, get this, and come back at least in Oblivion.

Well, I didn't play oblivion, I only played fallout and even though it did have a lot of fetch quests, the quest didn't all end up in a cave or a dungeon.

True but TES has always been that good old RPG by making new gameplay innovations on really old RPG elements like dungeon crawling. Fallout has dungeons too but they are obscured by a different coat of paint. Vaults are dungeons as are enemy bases and abandoned buildings, the only difference between Fallout and Skyrim's dungeons is Skyrim admits what they are while Fallout hides it. I am by no means hating on Fallout, in fact I prefer them masking dungeons with different names it makes the experience more authentic.
