The Money Glitch...

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 4:20 pm

In all the Bethesda Games I have played there has been a money glitch of somesort.

In Fallout 3 there was the glitch where you could sell a worn item to a merchant and buy it back at 100% then sell it again for a price that is higher than what you bought it for.

In Fallout New Vegas there was the glitch where you could buy Poker Chips in the Vicky & Vance and exchange them for the other currencies but the Poker Chips never left your inventory so you could keep cashing them in.

Finally in Oblivion there was the glitch where you could cure the Count's wife of Vampirism and keep on claiming the reward an unlimited amount of times.

Is there such a glitch in Skyrim? I have had plenty of cash so far but desperately want to buy a house and cannot be bothered to raise all the cash through traditional methods.

Find Sightless Pit.
It's due South of Winterhold and slightly Northwest of the Shrine of Azura.
Now...
1. Due South of Sightless pit, up on a plateau, is an altar with some skeletons.
2. Kill the skellies.
3. The one actually on the altar? See it? It's holding a book, Gates of Oblivion, valued at 50.
4. Do not take the book from the altar.
5. Instead, take the book as loot from the skeleton's corpse.
6. When you again open the corpse, even though it's tagged as empty, the book will be available to loot...again and again.
7. Open, take all, open, take all, open...

Note: The skeleton never resets nor disappears. The corpse will always have the book and you can loot it over and over.
Consider it your atm. Fast travel to Sightless Pit, walk slightly South to your skeleton bank, make as many withdrawals as you can carry.
Rinse and repeat.

Try the invisible loot chest in Dawnstar, it's close to the mine entrance and can actually be stumbled upon by accident. It contains random assorted loot, ranging from enchanted weapons and armour to random potions and animal pelts - the chest is easily reset if you simply trade with the nearby Khajiit caravans which are commonly camped on the outskirts of Dawnstar. Repeating this tactic can give you thousands of gold in about ten minutes.

Thanks to all who replied. I think I am going to go for the hidden Dawnstar chest.

Like I said, I'm desperate so want a quick solution. I'll have plenty of time to level up after I have my new house and somewhere else to store my belongings.

I only have about six Dragon Shouts so far and Slow Time isn't one of them. What does it do exactly in relation to buying a house and it's upgrades?

He';s refering tho the fact that if you buy the upgrade and drop the money fast enough, it will grant the upgrade even tho you don't have the money. Then you pick the gold back up. It doesn't add money, just saves a little.

Wow that's pretty sweet, 2500 for 100 books if you have the patience to keep clicking on the skeleton.

Only problem is that the gold doesn't reset quickly for the caravan, still you can horde up items and take them to the different cities. I'm gonna have to find these two items, I probably already sold the book from that location, so I'll try the invisible chest and see how much I can nab.

for weapons, flee undead made the most money, is that fear?
for clothes fortify carry weight and then muffle? it was a sneaky thing. turns useless items into cash pigs.
my problem turns into who can afford to buy it.
the trader in riverrun glitched on me last night and had 15,000 gold. nice glitch eh?
it happened right after i invested 500 with him.

This. Craft iron daggers and enchant them with the one you have that sells for the most. It's very easy and can net you a [censored]load of money. You don't need a glitch when you can do this.

If you like dwemer ruins go find them and haul out all the scrap metal makes a ton of ingots. Smith dwarves bows and enchant some also. I find the ruins cool and challenging.
No, it's not a glitch bit you can make a ton of money and raise smithing speech and enchanting while getting rich.

I do not know if its me your talking about but I made a thread because I had 80.000 gold and nothing to spend it on.

Just take it like it comes and level up, Then you will notice that drop gets better, and around level 40 you will easily get 3000 gold in a matter of minutes if you go for them.
