The new creatures

Post » Sun Jun 17, 2012 1:40 am

Ok, so we know there are new creatures being added, but we have seen what, 2 so far? Frost Giant (I think) and Gargoyles.

We have seen 1 named frost giant in game before in Morrowind, and there are more known in lore. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Frost_Giant
Gargoyles have also been seen before in Daggerfall, though I don't think they were as terrifying. http://images.uesp.net/b/be/DaggerfallGargoyle.gif....Or maybe they are with that freaky grin.

We also know that there will be Hell hounds and Armored Trolls in the game. Hell Hounds were in Arena http://images.uesp.net/8/87/ArenaHellHound.gif, but their new designs may be much different, perhaps having a more undead of demonic appearance.

Also I don't know if Hell Hounds are going to be associated with vampires like the gargoyles are, but look on the upper walkway behind Harkon right here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHalNRPt_4Q&feature=player_detailpage#t=187sThere is some sort of quadruped animal walking, and It doesn't seem to me they would use normal dogs.

Anyways are there any other creatures you would like to see in Dawnguard? Preferably from preexisting lore. I really wish much more Daedra variety would be added.

Since you asked, the Vampire / Serpent http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Tsaesci_%28race%29 race would be cool. But not likely.

I don't like to bump, as it makes me feel arrogant and I hate pride, but I thought people would care more to discuss the new creatures.
I find it....aberrant that complaint threads get more attention than serious threads. I thought I had a sharp eye there for noticing that dog. Now I sound like I'm whining...

So yeah, Hell Hounds, FIRE BREATHING NETHER DOGS. These along with gargoyles I hope to find terrifying in some dungeons. I hope they aren't pushover enemies either. I do wish the vanilla game had darker lighting though. I want to experience fear of hearing the creatures move around me in the darkness, knowing they can see me, but not I them.

The Daedra Seducers would be great, a return of Golden Saints and Dark Seducers too.

The leaked Game Informer magazine called them "Death Hounds". Maybe something akin to the "Skinned Hounds" in Shivering Isles?

I was looking at a http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Bestiary_A earlier, and cheese and crackers I was unaware of the actual count of existing creatures. I noticed many from Arena and Daggerfall never made another appearance. Same with Battlespire. In fact, I was upset with the so less allotment of Daedra implemented... I've played Morrowind and Oblivion beyond extensively, and have some amount of time with Daggerfall, so Skyrim's Daedra count was quite disappointing. 3 Atronachs and some leveled Dremora... I guess given Morrowinds past and Oblivions whole Deadlands Sentai Task Force Oblivion Invasion Squad? it made since for there to be more in the wilderness in those games.

Speaking of which, on one of my earlier Skyrim games I found a Flame Atronach in the wilderness just across the river west of Riverwood, no summoner in sight...

The Daedra Seducers would be great, a return of Golden Saints and Dark Seducers too.
I would like some Daedra that I can actually speak witch without them trying to kill me. I know many Daedra are actually intelligent, but I guess they have a superiority complex that makes them murder mortals on sight. I loved how in the SHivering Isles though getting to actually speak with Daedra. And that one quest in Morrowind with the 3 Atronachs in some mountain I can't remember.

The leaked Game Informer magazine called them "Death Hounds". Maybe something akin to the "Skinned Hounds" in Shivering Isles?
OHHHH, death hound... Maybe they are vampire dogs then ha.

i think that seeing antronarchs in the wilderness is a random encounter. i just started with the series at skyrim but i have been playin a bit of oblivion and i know it sounds kinda corny but what about some super strong goblin vampires or other creatures that have been bitten or wild werewolves

In the Morrowind expansion "Bloodmoon" there were were wolves in the wilderness. They were crazy too. In the day time they were labeled "Crazy Fool' or "Raving Lunatic" things like that. But at night time as soon as you entered their A.I. range, there was a flash for their instant transformation and they came running at you with their high athletics. The first one really freaked me out.

@Chemicalspectre

Yes I loved how in the Shivering Isles you got some insight on the Daedra within their realm, I really did like that.

I would also like to see more Daedra in general.

It would be cool if you are a Vampire, you can have a Death Hound as a folower. I don't really remeber, but I recall hearing that as a Vampire Lords can summons Death Hound also, Gargoyles.
