As the new leader, shouldn't I be leading?

So, after becoming the leader of whichever guild you like, shouldn't you be the one handing out the missions? I never do the random job quests after completing the quest line. I wish my reaction to a random guild kill/steal/retrieve quest could be, "Thanks for finding this information. It's a good idea. Now, you go do it."

I realize that this is pretty pointless from a content perspective and that it would be probably be difficult to implement. Maybe they could just clear the quest and have the NPC toss you a couple hundred gold or an item after a few days. You could always still elect to do it yourself.

Whatever. It's a great game already, obviously. Just a small thought.

Guild quest lines always seem more about the journey than the destination. Would be cool if you could actually run the guild though, make decisions that mattered, and the guild would either suffer or profit from it.

The reason these guilds make you leader so quickly and readily is because noone else wants the job. Now you know why. ;)

I think they did that in Oblivion with the fighters guild. you made decisions for the month and made money. every week you could go look in your trunk and see if a new special item had been found by your guild members. I think it would be a great add to this game.

I totally agree with your sentiment! Even if I don't hand out missions, they should treat me with more respect. Most guild members talk to me like I'm still some green apprentice! LOL

Plus, as pointed out in various threads, most guild missions seem rather short and yea, it seems they hand over the job as leader to the newcomer rather quickly and too eagerly LOL

as the leader of a faction you should be able to lead But you are the Dragonborn...an adventurer.

and like Oblivion you get to become the leader in all factions. how could you make all of the day to day decisions for each and every faction?

it is better this way. as the Dragonborn, you have enough to worry about.

they shouldnt have had made you the leader then. maybe just the 2nd in command and you get your quests from the leader. unfortunate that most of the factions you joined, their leaders died and you took their place - good thing nobody has suspected you for foul play yet hehehe

edit: you know what would be cool tho? for example, you are the Harbinger of the Companions and you go out exploring and from time to time a courier or a faction member runs up to you and gives you messages or asks for you help. just imagine: "Harbinger! there are pressing issues that need your immediate attention! we need you at Jorrvaskr as soon as possible" XP

faction to faction battles would be nice too... imagine leading the whole of the Companions in an open-field battle against a different faction. XD

It'd be cool if there were at least a sense that there were other jobs happening and that you were just helping with the tough ones. Something like, "We've been trying to take out this bandit chief for Jarl Soandso, but we keep getting our asses handed to us! We need your awesomeness on this one. Also, here's a couple hundred gold from the easy missions we didn't even bother to tell you about, because they're not worth your time."
