The New PC 1.6 Patch through Steam Broke The Game!

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 11:39 am

Steam auto-downloaded new 1.6 patch onto my computer and now game casting is broken.

Game will not allow the player to cast ANY SPELL or use SHOUT POWERS

All Vanilla Spells wont work (and Mod Spells wont work)

- Removed all my custom animations and horse mods this did nothing fix it

- I tried rebinding the controls because they were erased again but this did nothing to help fix this bug.

- Updated SKSE to proper 1.6 version

I am certain Bethesda corrupted the game with the latest update, now Skyrim is glitched out and unplayable.

Is anyone else getting this bug or similar problems?

Disable any mods you may be using and see if that helps.

I can no longer cast with just my right hand. I can dual cast just fine. I can use weapons with both hands.

When disabling animation mods, be sure to move the folder containing the animation files, and not just associated esps.

If you don't know to disable mods before updating you really shouldn't be using them.

Its your fault for using mods while updating (are your mods even updated to 1.6?), not Bethesda's.

Also, you should disable automatic updates on Steam. This way you can update as you wish, preventing this from happening.
