The new screenshot is not Elder Scrolls?

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 2:08 am

What do people think...?

Pete Hines and Bethesda's twitter accounts have both hinted that it ISNT elder scrolls.... But is that to just throw us off?

I am not sure.

It doesn't look like something rendered by Creation Engine..... So maybe it is something entirely new.

But Todd Howard did mention that DLC related news would be announced over the coming month not too long ago.

Hmmmmm.

People actually think it's something Skyrim related...?

Just look at the face, then compare it to a character model from Skyrim.

I'd bet $10,000.00 it's not Skyrim related.

Well, there is always the possibility of it being a pre-rendered cutscenes shot. It looks extremely high quality after all.

Bethesda haven't done that for a while though. I a leaning towards a new IP.

Yeah, this is a helluva lot better quality than Skyrim graphics, and skyrim doesn't use in game cutscenes. Also, it it was a in game screenshot, I think Beth would use the environment, not characters, because they are a lot better at chreating inviroments

I very highly doubt it's Skyrim-related. Just look at Pete Hines' tweet - You know, we do make games other than Skyrim.
I have no idea where people get the idea it's a Skyrim screenshot. Not even Skyrim is that realistic ...

No character in Vanilla Oblivon had a beard (Sheogorath had one though), so it's still a possibility.

IMO it screams DISHONORED!

It screams a cartoonish steampunk setting based around the late 18 to early 19th century... okay.

Yeah, that would be great. Unfortunately, there is about 0.00001% of it being that. :(

I am leaning more towards an entirely new IP, developed by someone else, published by Bethesda Softwerks.

Well, I'm thinking that the hair could be exclusive to that character, like Sheogorath's beard in Oblivion!

Yes but the thing is all the promotional material Bethesda has released for Skyrim to my knowledge has used in game assets, I find it hard to believe that they would switch to pre rendered cinematics to promote DLC for the game.

I see.

Now given all of that. Who is the other guy? What about that high collar? Is it TIM?

The more I read stuff on the interwubz, the more I am leaning towards it being for their new game, Dishonored,

Which I just learnt about thirty seconds ago.

And what would some of those lots be?

The main guy for one, he looks Nord... dirty, scars, long blond/dark hair, with a Nord shape.
There there is the other guy who seems to have pointy ears, and there is this:
